December 26th 2022: Progress Report and End of the Year Report

Hello everyone, Rem here with this year's last Progress Report!!!

Holy crap, it's already the end of the year?!!!?! Let's quickly get to last week's Progress Report before the year is over! Sachinama has been working hard on the stray pubic hair CGs while spending time with his family and rehab-ing his eyes! And there's also something else going on... if you've seen the news on last week's Ci-en/Discord/Twitter announcement, you might have already heard about it! If you haven't, don't worry, I'll repeat it all in next week's SubscribeStar post which will be me talking about the stuff planned for 2023!

As for me, last Monday I discovered that TADA, the main head of Alicesoft, a very famous and popular Japanese eroge company, announced a fan mod for Sengoku Rance, a game that I very much loved which came out 16 years ago. After playing that fan mod for a bit, I got super nostalgic for all things Rance and well, since Lovense is currently on break, I decided to take a break from coding the Lovense Integration and spent most of last week playing and enjoying Rance X. It's been almost four years since Rance X came out! It pretty much came out before Karryn's Prison development started in early 2018. So inbetween holiday family stuff and a freaking water disaster on the night before Christmas Eve, I've been having fun just being a potato playing Rance X.

And before I end this year's last post, I wanna just do a quick wrap-up for the year. I don't think we got as much done as we initially hoped for, after all, the Gym DLC was originally planned for somewhere between late summer or early fall. But on my end, I had that terrible depressing wrist injury that took me out for over a month, and then I had my LASIK eye surgery. For Sachinama, he had the eye surgery to seal the holes in his eyes, and then had ICL eye surgery and while recovering from the ICL, him and his whole family got Covid.

BUT. We also got a lot of things done too! Early parts of the year, a lot of bug and balancing for Karryn's Prison got done, as well as a lot of additional Cut-In variations as part of the free updates to the game. Steamdeck and modding support was expanded. Kiara -The Knight of Icicles- was also released in fall! And while the Gym DLC has been delayed throughout this year from not only physical reasons but also mental stuff going on with me in terms of a bit of eroge version of a writer's block, a lot of work on the Gym DLC had been done! And there's also quite a lot of unannounced stuff and projects behind the scene, some that failed, some that worked, including the aforementioned announcement from last week's Ci-en/Twitter/Discord!

So while 2022 had been quite a ride with ups and downs, Sachinama and I want to thank everyone for being by our side and supporting us! As always, I always say this but you don't have to subscribe to us on SubscribeStar or Ci-en if you don't have the money or don't think we deserve your support. Heck, really, you don't even have to buy our games if you don't have the money. Just don't say it out loud or brag about it. But if you managed to save up the money, and feel like we deserve your hard earned money for our games, or even your support on SubscribeStar or Ci-en, I want to thank you all! And even if you didn't, if you have been talking about the game, playing and recommending the game to other people, I want to thank you too!

Sengoku Rance, the eroge that I talked about earlier on in this post that came out 16 years ago. I didn't pay for it when it came out, even though I probably put in hundreds of hours on it. I was dirt poor 16 years ago. But I paid for it last Monday when I officially brought it off of Fanza/DMM so I can play the fan mod. Of course when Rance X came out 4 years ago, I immediately paid for that. I even pre-purchased it before it was released.

And that's all it is really. Someone who haven't paid for our games yesterday because they couldn't afford it, maybe one day when they have the money and decide that our game is worth it might pay for it, whether that day is a month from now, or a year later.

So to everyone has played our games and had fun, thank you for enjoying our eroges! It's why I got into this industry in the first place, to spread my love of eroge to other people. It's almost been two decades since I first started playing eroges, and I'm still head over heels in love with eroges seeing how I couldn't stop playing Rance X last week. And I plan to continue playing more Rance x this week all the way into 2023! I hope, heading into the new year, that I, honestly, can leave an impression, an eroge, so deeply into someone's mind that 16 years later, they want to go back, pay for it and play it again.
