My Dress Up Hina-Doll (Erotic Story)

My Dress Up Hina-Doll, fanfic by OperandX

“Hmm,” Wakana Gojo muttered to himself as he worked on the Hina doll in his hand. From an outside glance, it looked fine. But to someone who will design Hina dolls in the future, it just wasn’t right to him. It felt like something was missing from her.

He knows that his craftsmanship has been improving since he’s been helping Marin Kitagawa with her cosplays. His grandfather Kaoru, an expert in making Hina Dolls, pointed it out to him several times. But he felt like he could still do better. No, he knows he can do better. But how…

“Gojo-kun?”

“Ahh!” He nearly dropped the doll in fright, only calming down when he saw it was Marin. “O-oh, Kitagawa-san. It’s only you.”

“Yeah, no need to be afraid of me!” Marin teased in her playful manner, only to drop it once she looked over Wakana’s expression. “You okay, Gojo-kun? You seem a bit stress out.”

“Y-yeah,” he replied, wondering if he should tell her about his problem. Marin had been helping Wakana be more confident in his sewing skills and doll-making, so he felt safe to confine with her. “Just been having trouble with her.” He cradled the Hina Doll in his hands to show her.

“Wow! She looks super cute!” Marin praised, her eyes glistening as she examined each detail. “So what’s the problem?”

“That’s the thing. I’m getting better at making dolls now, but it just doesn’t feel ready,” Wakana answered. “I feel like I’m missing something. Something to portray who they are as not just dolls but individuals.”

“Not good,” Marin frowned. She could tell this was really haunting him. There has to be a way to get him out of this funk. “Anything I can do?”

Wakana gapped and sputtered out a response. “T-that’s okay, Kitagawa-san! This is my problem, so…”

“Gojo-kun, let me help,” Marin pouted. “You’ve been helping me out with my cosplay, so I wanna help you out too.”

He was initially shocked but smiled in gratitude. “True, I guess it’s fair I let you help me.” He hummed in thought. “Actually, that does give me an idea.”

“What is it?! What is it?!” she eagerly asked, getting close to her face.

Wakana blushed but manage to keep calm. “Well, if it’s too much… could you be my Hina Doll? Maybe a life-size version could help me help me notice the details better so I can refine the smaller ones. I mean, I know you enjoy dressing up as your favorite character, so if you don’t want to…”

“Of course I’ll want to!” Marin answered in delight. “Hina Dolls are so cute! It’ll be awesome to be one!”

“R-really?” Wakana gapped. “I-I mean, thank you, Kitagawa-san. We can do the dress-up on Sunday. I’m sure grandpa would be happy to see you again for lunch.”

“Super!” she cheered. Grandpa Gojo’s lunches were really delicious. “I’ll see you then! It’s a da- appointment!” she quickly finished, red tinting her face. “I’ll see you later! Gotta hang with the girls today!” She rushed out of the classroom, leaving Wakana confused by her sudden change in behavior.

Once she was away, Marin took some breaths to calm down. ‘Calm down, Marin. It’s just our usual dress-up session. Except this time it’s for Gojo-kun’s Hina Dolls. Helping each other out just like… couples… do… Uwah! Why am I so in wuv with him!’

After that day, the two had got to work buying everything that they needed. A Jūnihitoe set that matched the Princess doll. A paper-fan prop. Even a black traditional-style wig. It was a bit costly, but nothing the funds from Marin’s modeling gig can deal with.

Marin, of course, personally handled the most important stuff: body paint. For the most immersion, both agree that making Marin look like a doll as much as possible was vital. So she bought a special set of white body paint that’ll give her a glass-like look. It was a surprise for both Wakana and his grandfather when she came looking as white as their dolls. And it was quite an event explaining the whole thing to Gojo-san over lunch.

After they were finished, they went into Wakana’s room, where the rest of Marin’s outfit was waiting. Once the door was closed, Marin started stripping down to her nude while Wakana was turned away, then put on the first layer of her outfit, the two-piece cotton undergarments.

“Phew! I keep forgetting how hot is under this!” She groaned, referring to the heat under the body paint.

When he turned around, Wakana tried to keep himself from staring. It wasn’t her lack of clothing, he had seen Marin in many skimpy outfits over their cosplay career. It was because the white body paint truly made her look like a doll. “Wow…”

Marin saw he was staring, and while a bit surprised, manage to bring out her mischievous grin. “Do you like me as a doll, Gojo-kun~”

His jaw dropped as he sputtered out an answer. “Uh- I mean- You look great!”

She giggled. “Alright! Now, are we going to get started?”

“Sure, the next should be the kosode,” Wakana instructed. Marin went to pick up the kosode, the red, ankle-length robe, and pull it over her body. However, it was after she put on the nagabakama, the long pleated red skirt with two splits for her legs, that she found she couldn’t move her feet. “What the heck?”

“Is something wrong, Kitagawa-san?” Wakana asked.

“My legs,” she grumbled, trying to use her hands to push them. “They’re so stiff!”

“Huh?!” he yelped. “How’s that possible?! We have to stop!”

“No!” Marin interrupted. “We can still do this! You can help me put it one.” While afraid that the feeling of his large hands will send her into a love-struck frenzy, she can’t let Gojo-kun’s hard work get interrupted. “I’m sure it’ll go away once we’re done.”

Wakana frowned, but he had a strong feeling to finish their work. “Well… I guess I can continue.” He went to grab the hitoe, the unlined violet silk robe, and wrapped it around her body. And just like with her legs, her arms were frozen stiff.

“Uh, Gojo-kun?” she sheepishly laughed. “It happened again.”

Though initially surprised, he gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. Like you said, this might end once we’re done. I can managed the rest on my own.”

“That’s the spirit!” She praised, a wide smile on her face.

With her encouragement, Wakana went to get the itsutsuginu, five brightly colored robes of blue, red, and gold. He gently placed each layer on Marin’s body, making sure they were neatly pressed and fitted the girl properly.

Marin could feel his hands underneath the layers and struggled to keep herself from breaking down in loving bliss. However from the corner of her eyes, she realized that something look different about her hands, the only visible part of her body with her arms stretched out. They were still covered in the white body paint as before. But the way they glistened and seemed so thin… it felt like they were made of plastic rather than just looking like plastic.

“Um, Gojo-kun?” she spoke up. “Do my hands seem off?”

He was a bit confused by her question but checked anyway. “They seem fine, Kitagawa-san.”

“Ah, must be imagining it,” she replied while he tied the rope-like obi around her waist. Maybe the heat was just getting to her.

But it was when he put on the uchiginu, the scarlet beaten silk robe, over the other layers, that Marin took one last look at her hands, then gasped as she focused on the details.

Her fingers weren’t set of bone and flesh wrapped in unbroken skin. Instead, they each looked like pieces of bendable plastic components, just like on a mannequin.

“G-Gojo-kun,” she sputtered. “My hands!”

Wakana was picking up the uwagi when he heard her cry. “What is it?!”

“My hands! There…” she trailed off as she got a better look. Despite their plastic shape, there was something… calming about them. Like they weren’t out of place at all. “Never mind.”

There was still worry on his expression, but he choose to continue with her reassurance and brought the crimson red silk robe, decorated in gold embroidering of his family name. Wait, was that on the uwagi before?

But that was the least of her concerns. Beneath all the layers of fabric, her body underneath her now plastic skin was turning hollow. Bones and organs vanished and left a clean empty cavity instead. But despite that, it didn’t kill her. At most Marin felt lighter despite the heavy layers of clothes. Her joints were replaced with balls, keeping them rigid but allowing Wakana to move them as he needed them to.

It was only when Marin tried to blink that panic came to her. Her red eyes had been replaced with glass orbs, though she could still see like they were working organs. Her neck could no longer turn on its own as it was now a plastic tube connecting her head to her body.

“Oh no…” Marin muttered out as the feeling of paralysis came to her face. Something was terribly wrong. “GOJO-” her cries were silenced as her face froze over, her lips trapped in a serene and gentle smile.

Wakana was grabbing the karaginu when he heard her shout. “Huh?” he turned back to Marin. “I could have sworn I heard Kitaga…” he trailed off and shook his head. “Never mind. Why would a girl be in my place anyway.” He brought the gold waist-length jacket to put onto Marin’s body.

Though her body was a plastic shell wrapped in layers of kimono, Marin’s consciousness was still active, and very much confused and scared. “What the heck is going on?! What happened to my body?! Why isn’t Gojo-kun freaking out?! And… what did he mean by a girl not being in his place, I’ve been here plenty of times! Something isn’t right…”

As he placed the jacket over her body, he started speaking. “I’m really glad I found you, Marin.”

“Did he call me by my first name?!” If Marin was human her face would be as red as a tomato. “Ah, I’m not ready for this!”

“I was pretty lucky to find you in that alley.”

“Alley? That doesn’t make sense? We meet in…” Marin’s thoughts trailed off before the answer came to her. “Oh yeah, outside that fabric store! Which I guess was an alley. Why did I forget that?”

Wakana went to grab the mo, the white apron-like train skirt with dyed adornments of the sea. “I never could figure out why you were left there. You looked so beautiful. But I’m glad I got to meet you Marin.”

“Oh, I’m so happy I got to meet you, Wakana-kun!” Marin failed to realize that her own way of referring to him had changed.

He placed the mo behind the rest of her outfit. After that, he carefully adjusted her legs so that she was kneeling like the Hina Dolls his grandfather worked on.

“There, much better!” he praised. “All that’s left is your head.” He then grabbed Marin’s head and started turning.

“W-what the?! I’m glad I can’t get dizzy!” She noticed that her head was getting higher with each turn until Wakana was able to pull her head clean off her shoulder.

“WHAT THE HELL?!” She cried out in her head, unaware that a large screw was protruding underneath her detached head. As Wakana carried her to his work desk, she could see her decapitated body clad in the full Jūnihitoe ensemble. “Wow, I look great! Wakana-san is a master at this!”

Wakana placed her head on the desk. “Alright, now for your hair.” He reached for a glue remover from underneath. “I never got why your hair was blonde with those red highlights. They look good on you, but it seems out of place for a store mannequin.” He swabbed the solution at the edge of Marin’s hair, before carefully removing it from her plastic bald head.

“Wait, my hair is a wig?!” she mentally cried out. She spotted a logo on the underside as he pulled the wig away. “Kitagawa Fashion. Huh, I think I heard of that name before.”

Now that her head was off, Wakana could finish up Marin’s look at his work desk. He painted her lips a bright red, then painted over her eyebrows until they were gone, leaving white spaces for him to sketch black butterfly eyebrows. He stylized her eyelashes to give them a sharp black gaze. Finally, he glued the black Magu-Magu wig with a copper crown piece attached on top of her head.

“And there!” A boyish joyful smile crossed the gentle giant as he gently held up Marin. “Now you are the Hina Princess.”

“Thank you, Wakana-sama~,” Marin thought in delight. Hearing his praises always made her so giddy.

Satisfied, Wakana took her head back to her body, screwing it back into her body. Each turn made the final changes to Marin’s memories.

She was a mannequin at a fashion store until she was replaced with a new model. She was tossed away and left in an alley, covered in dust and dirt until Wakana Gojo found her.

In awe of her beauty, Gojo brought her back home and cleaned her up. He saved up money to buy her a Jūnihitoe outfit, able to turn her from a stripped-bare mannequin to a life-sized Hina Doll.

“There,” he smiled in relief. “My first Hina Doll.” He laughed to himself. “Well, you’re not a traditional Hina Doll, but you look beautiful, Marin.” That was the name he picked for her after finding her. He placed the fan into her hands with a blush on his face. “I’ll make some amazing dolls thanks to you.”

Though she couldn’t smile physically, Marin was happy for her master and owner. “I live to serve you, Wakana-sama.”

Years later

Wakana Gojo had graduated high school without any trouble, and from there he began working full time under his grandfather Kaoru’s tutelage. He was able to create and make each doll under the watch of his Marin.

And soon that special time of the year came: Doll’s Day. He was tasked to make the prince and princess doll for the set he and his grandfather worked on. He nearly collapsed under the praises from both his grandfather and the happy and grateful family that purchased the set. The family’s little girl rambling how cute the princess was, especially since she looked like the miniature version of the workshop’s main attraction: Marin the Hina Princess

When the shop closed, Gojo took his dinner to his room, sitting before Marin. The mannequin was wearing her Jūnihitoe, freshly cleaned and primed for the day. She was a popular sight to visitors on Doll’s Day.

“Good evening, Marin,” he said. “Grandfather and I sold that set we were working on. That little girl loved it, especially the Princess. I based her off of you, you know.”

He knew it was a bit silly for him to talk to an inanimate object, especially to a mannequin. But he felt so comfortable with her, like he could let out his dreams and that she would support him.

“Oh, I saw Inui sisters today. They were happy to see you dressed up. Sajuna-san even asked us to help her with a duel cosplay.” He chuckled. “I haven’t said yes yet, but… it would be nice to dress you up as those anime characters again.”

He couldn’t remember what got him into dressing Marin like characters in anime and games. It felt like something she would enjoy and a way to help connect with other students. In the end, Marin’s Shizuka cosplay opened him to a new social circle, with Sajuna-san, Shinju-san, Chitose-kun, and Akira-san. He was free from the prison he kept himself in for so many years. He owed so much to Marin.

He watched as the moonlight graced her face. “You know, it sounds silly. But sometimes I imagine you coming to life. One would expect you to be graceful like a princess from the Heian period, but you were always energetic and honest in my dreams. Maybe cause you were used for teen fashion before? I can’t explain why, really. It just felt like who you are.”

“But no matter how you acted, I would always accept you. I will be happy to hear you speak.”

Wakana sighed as he closed his eyes. Like that would actually happen. Dolls coming to life only in fantasies, not reality.

It was then that a female voice echoed in the room, unfamiliar but comforting. “Danna-sama.”

His eyes burst open and fell onto Marin. Instead of a white mannequin, she was now a flesh and blood human, an actual girl.

“M-Marin? I-Is it really you?”

Marin gave him a wide smile, raising a sleeve-covered hand to wave at him. “Of course it’s me, Danna-sama. Don’t let your mouth open, bugs will get in.”

He let out a quick laugh. “Wow, you’re… you’re just like in my dreams. All open and carefree.”

“That’s right,” Marin huffed. “That’s the type of woman that you wanted, right Danna-sama.”

It was then that Wakana realized the honorifics that she was calling him. “D-danna-sama?! M-me?!”

“Of course,” Marin grinned. “I know we aren’t married yet, but you’re the guy I want to be with. I’ve been in love with you ever since you rescued me and gave me a new purpose. I enjoyed having you dressed me in those cool outfits.” Her expression turned sheepish. “Then again, having another mouth to feed would be a hassle for you and grandpa. So I understand if you don’t want that…”

“Oh no no no!” he frantically waved his hands as he got to his feet. “Not at all! It won’t be a problem. I’ve been taking part-time jobs as a cosplay outfit designer, so I won’t have that much money worry. It’s gonna be awkward explaining this to grandpa, but I won’t let go on the street. I’ll take care of you like I did before.”

“Yeah!” Marin carefully got up and walked towards him. “And don’t worry, Danna-sama. I might not have a degree like you, but I’ll make sure to do my part. Princess will get you money on the table.”

He couldn’t help but chuckle. “Since when do princesses work for money, Marin?”

“Since now,” She balanced herself on the edge of her black sandals to kiss him on the lips. “Cause a good princess cares for her prince~”

Wakana was initially shocked at her sudden affection. But his shock evaporated to joy as he carefully held to her face and kissed her back.

There was never an explanation for why Marin came to life. And while the question never came to either of them, there was no answer for why she became a mannequin in the first place.

But perhaps those questions no longer matter. Because this strange quirk of fate allowed Wakana and Marin Gojo to be together for the rest of their lives.
