Restructuring

I’ve been thinking about this Subscribestar page a lot in the last couple of weeks. Not just because it is a great place for me to show off my work and express my interests, but also because it is a massive source of stress.
The largest reason for that stress stems from me attempting to make this site and my work a valuable investment for you, the subscriber. I don’t feel as though I have done that for many of you. My pricing scheme, the various tiers and the costs thereof, were initially conceived with the idea that I would not be the only person doing much of the writing/editing/publishing/pretty much everything. The problem is that I’m not a terribly capable delegator, and the people who I had planned on collaborating with have a great deal of their own work that they are doing and I don’t wish to interrupt or interfere in that. So it pretty much came down to me to do most everything. Me, the eternal procrastinator whose stomach gets tied up in knots at the idea of actually publishing something, even after it’s written and edited and has an illustration. That’s who’s trying to run this whole operation
Needless to say, my initial vision for this page has not come to pass. But fret not, dear readers! I have no intention of giving up on the grand experiment. I wish only to let you know of a restructuring of things around here. Mostly to your benefit!
I’m getting rid of a bulk of the subscription tiers and replacing them with something simpler. It’s going to be a base level of $2 per month to view my work as it happens, with optional increases if you’re feeling generous. These higher tiers will be given a larger weight of vote in the reader polls, but that is the only real "benefit" to them. The only tier that is staying the same is the Student Council tier, since it does behave as a sort of “long-term commissioner” status. Everyone else is invited to drop down to the basic tier of $2 at your convenience. Additionally, everyone currently subscribed will be given one free month of subscription as thanks for your commitment to the process. After that point you can feel free to increase your sub to whatever level you’d like.
Outside of that, everything will be the same. I’ll still do polls, and everyone will be able to vote in them. I’ll still post chapters, hopefully at a better rate once the stigma of “generating value” is lessened and I don’t feel the same degree of pressure. And, per Formant’s schedule and willingness to contribute, we’ll still have the occasional illustration to go along with some characters and stories.
I want to thank you all for sticking with me for this long. I genuinely appreciate all of you more than you can know. I promise I’m not beating myself up this time or any of that. I’m just seeing a problem and attempting to implement a solution.
