Devlog #1: Heart vs. Cover
The core of The Velvet Ledger is a single choice that you make again and again: is Theo really falling for her, or is he still working his cover?
Every relationship tracks both sides. Your choices shape how close each woman gets to Theo, and whether he ever tells her who he really is. Some secrets bring people closer. Others blow up in his face.
Episode 1 introduces the boarding house on Alder Street, the Lantern jazz lounge, and the first clues about the ledger. We're fixing the last few bugs now.
Next up: an early look at the cast.

Smoke and Brass Studio

Smoke & Brass Studio makes The Velvet Ledger, an adult (18+) neo-noir mystery romance visual novel built in Ren'Py, with stylized 3D-rendered art. An undercover charmer takes a bartending job at a jazz lounge and moves into an old boarding house hiding a secret ledger, while four women could expose him or fall for him. The game is story-driven, with slow-burn romance, player choices and consensual adult scenes. Subscribers get early access to new episodes (released every 4-6 weeks), devlogs and previews, story polls, HD render galleries, and work-in-progress builds. All characters are fictional, unrelated adults aged 18 or older. There is no content involving minors, family relationships or non-consent.
