A Reset of Expectations
Hey everyone,
I want to take a moment to talk about where things stand with Unblocked Desires and Questionable Decisions.
In my last development update, I talked about how I've been taking on additional work to improve my financial situation, and how that was affecting the time and energy I had available for creative projects.
That hasn't changed. If anything, I've realized that my focus and motivation are going to remain on the work that's helping me build a more stable financial future for the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately, that means Unblocked Desires hasn't made any meaningful development progress recently. I've also struggled to maintain anything resembling a consistent artwork schedule.
I previously talked about releasing an early alpha by the end of October. That's not happening, and I don't want to replace that missed deadline with another promise I'm not confident I can keep.
So here's where things stand going forward.
I'm not abandoning Unblocked Desires or Questionable Decisions. I still enjoy these characters, I still want to make the game, and I intend to keep working on both when I have the time and creative energy.
But for now, I can't promise regular artwork, development updates, or a release date for the game.
I also want to be completely transparent about the financial side of things. The support I've received is genuinely appreciated, but the subscription revenue currently isn't enough to meet the platform's minimum withdrawal threshold. That means it's not yet providing income I can use to offset the time I'd otherwise spend on paid work.
I'm not sharing that to ask anyone to contribute more. Quite the opposite.
If you're subscribing because you're expecting frequent exclusive artwork or a playable game in the near future, I don't want you to feel obligated to continue paying for something I'm not currently able to deliver.
If you choose to stay subscribed because you enjoy the occasional artwork and want to support the project as it develops at its own pace, I'm incredibly grateful.
And if you'd rather step away until there's more to see or play, I completely understand. There are no hard feelings, and you're always welcome back.
Going forward, I'll share artwork and development progress when I have something worth sharing, rather than committing to a schedule I can't reliably maintain.
I hope to eventually reach a point where I can dedicate more time to this work. Until then, I need to be realistic about what I can give it.
Thank you for the support, encouragement, and patience you've shown me so far.
I appreciate it more than you know.
❤️ Questionable Decisions
