Extra Credits

The last bell rang ten minutes ago. You’re still in your seat.

She doesn’t look at the empty classroom. She looks at you, one finger slowly sliding her glasses back into place as she settles more comfortably on the edge of her desk. Her legs cross. The motion is deliberate.

“You need those extra credits,” she says, voice soft but clear. A faint smile touches her lips. “So… what exactly are you going to do to earn them?”

She waits. The chalkboard behind her still has half-erased equations. Outside, the hallway is quiet.

Your move.
