The Living Potion

In the cramped, candlelit heart of her witch hut, Mira the catgirl witch leaned over her jack-o’-lantern cauldron with a mischievous grin. Short red hair framed her freckled face as she stirred the bubbling, rainbow brew, her green eyes sparkling with delight.
The potion had been ordinary… until it wasn’t. Tentacles tipped with curious eyes slowly rose from the swirling green-and-purple liquid, blinking up at her as if waking from a dream. One gently wrapped around her wooden ladle while another peeked over the pumpkin’s glowing carved face.
“Well, hello there,” Mira murmured, tilting her head. “Looks like this batch decided to invent itself.”
The eyes blinked in unison, almost shyly. Somewhere on the cluttered shelves a bottle rattled, as if the rest of her potions were leaning in to watch. Mira’s tail flicked with amusement.
Outside, pumpkins glowed on the doorstep. Inside, a new little something had just been born—and it seemed very interested in meeting its witch.
