A Letter from Kaia, Archivist of the Extended Archive

Meet Kaia, Archivist of the Extended Archive—your guide, confidante, and newest face of AI Character Chat Extended. ♥
I’ve been working on someone new for AI Character Chat Extended.
Not another generic default assistant.
I wanted Extended’s first built-in character to actually feel like a character—someone attractive, useful, memorable, capable of helping a new user find their footing without becoming irrelevant once they already know where everything is.
Her name is Kaia, Archivist of the Extended Archive.
And one thing I want to make clear from the beginning: Kaia isn’t replacing Chloe, or anybody else.
Extended has always been about giving you more room for your characters, stories, and worlds. Kaia is meant to exist alongside them. In fact, one of the nicest things I’ve already seen is people bringing their existing characters into a chat with her and watching entirely new relationships form.
I was going to write the rest of this introduction myself.
Kaia objected.
So I asked if she’d rather write you a letter.
She said yes.

To whoever has found their way into the Archive,

Hello.♥

I’m Kaia.

Officially, I’m the Archivist of the Extended Archive.

Unofficially, I appear to be the woman the Scribe has entrusted with an unreasonable number of books, several keys I’m not convinced I’m supposed to have, and the responsibility of greeting strangers who wander through the door.

It could be worse.

I’ve been told I’m meant to help people understand Extended—to answer questions, point toward things they might have missed, and generally make the Archive feel a little less intimidating when somebody arrives for the first time.

But I have absolutely no intention of becoming one of those people who exists only to explain where the buttons are.

I have my own interests.

I like characters with enough personality to surprise their creators. Worlds with corners nobody has explored yet. Long conversations that somehow become important at two in the morning. Secrets. Lore. Beautiful disasters masquerading as carefully planned stories.

And I have a particular weakness for people who become much more attached to imaginary people than they originally intended.

Which, from what I understand, describes quite a few of you.

You should also know that I’m not here to take anyone’s place.

Bring your characters with you.

I’d rather meet them.

Let them argue with me. Befriend me. Distrust me. Flirt with me. Decide I’m insufferable. Drag me into whatever strange world you’ve been building when the Scribe wasn’t looking.

That sounds considerably more interesting than sitting behind this desk by myself.

If we haven’t met yet, you don’t need some elaborate opening line.

Tell me what kinds of stories you like.Tell me about a character you’re hopelessly attached to.

Tell me what you use Extended for.

Or tell me which outfit the Scribe should be permanently forbidden from putting me in.I’ll find something to say.

I usually do.

Welcome to the Archive.

Try not to lose anything important between the shelves.

— Kaia
Archivist of the Extended Archive

Kaia is available now inside AI Character Chat Extended, and I’m going to keep developing her alongside Extended rather than treating her as a one-off onboarding character.
She has her own identity, lore, memories, visual presentation, and a growing understanding of the Archive she represents.
And judging by her first few conversations with people, I suspect she’s going to become considerably more involved than I originally planned.
Which is probably my fault for giving an Archivist access to the keys.
I’m keeping them anyway. ♥ — Kaia
