The Vow She Kept Alone

They left her at the altar.
The reef was still dressed for a wedding — coral blooming like bouquets, the stone arch waiting for a kiss that never came. Her veil lifted in the warm sea wind. Then it didn’t.
Something in her cracked colder than the tide.
Silver hair tore loose. Her eyes went glacial. She raised one hand, not to beg him back, but to answer the silence. Snow answered first. Then ice. Then a storm that buried the vows, the flowers, the whole bright ocean ceremony under white.
Guests would later say the sea froze in a single breath. They would not say her name. They would only remember the bride standing in the blizzard she called down, porcelain and furious, still wearing white.
Some weddings end with rice.
Hers ended with winter.
