For most of the chapter, as you described what she was sensing, and *how* she was sensing it, I really kept wondering just how much she had transformed, and whether she even went full wolf mode. Candice's reaction definitely made me think that way until she described what Sophia looked like. Also, massive and pleasant surprise that Candice is genuinely fascinated by Sophia in a positive way. It turned the whole chapter really wholesome, which I was not expecting at all. I thought Candice would've freaked the hell out upon seeing Sophia and getting a confirmation that it's all real. Now we need some kind of major plot twist or dramatic event to wrap up the book...
