Slice of Venture 3 v0.1 is out!
Hello everyone!
I'd love to make a huge-ass post for the release of SoV3's first version, but considering the amount of things I have to say, I thought it might be a good idea to keep that for a future post.
I don't want to bother you with the MANY details that explain this month's delay when everyone just want to play the game. But you can be sure I'll write a whole post next week to explain a lot of things about both what happened and what will happen in the future.
I remind you all that SoV3's first version is free and since I want to know how many people will download the game, I'm not giving the direct link, I'll have to ask you to go through the Blue Axolotl site so that each download can be counted (Mega doesn't do file stats.)
Get SoV3 right here: https://blueaxolotl.com/play
I have the regret to announce you that for some unknown reasons (laziness I guess?) RPG Maker MZ doesn't export for Linux, so the game will only be available for PC and Mac.
Once you've finished that first version, feel free to answer that survey here to give some feedbacks (but feel free to also share your opinion through PM or on Discord (but use the spoiler tag in that case to avoid spoiling other players): https://forms.gle/jWWD2nkvNLenVE9h8
Thanks to those who'll take the time to answer. Just remember that everything here is just a WIP and despite the delays, there are many things that will be improved.
A last thing about the tier modifications for that release. As promised, Naomi's Past's full version will go down to the $5 tier until SoV3's current version is update. The $10 tier "gets" SoV3 and the $15 tier will have the CGs of that first version!
On my side I'm gonna take a break because that last month was pretty irritating and exhausting so I'll come back to work only after a good week of rest.

Have fun!
i love your work so fucking much lets be honest this one looks amazing i do hope to see more creatures and hopefully some with more animalistic features too but oh man this open so many possibilities love it so much.
now my suggestions for this specific demo love almost everything but there something you could add to this demo or to the game in the future to fill the worlds with more things the world just feels empty for example adding small things on the map you can just check and get a remark from yuki like she inspect a plant and say this plant looks different than anything i ever seen or small stuff like that to expand the world and reward exploration without the need of adding more chest or stuff like that
you did this on the cave but everywhere else felt empty and i know is a demo maybe you already plan into doing this but if you didnt i do suggest it it would make the player feel like they have to explore the map more to get more lore or funny moments
Having interactive elements on the map is planned, don't worry. It's just not here for two reasons: 1) the visual feature isn't coded yet (Yuki's supposed to have a bubble over her head when something's clickable) and 2) For that very beginning it was intentional because I didn't want people to lose too much time wandering and recieve remarks about the fact that it's too long. But in the future there will be interactive stuff. As for the visual look of things, it's terribly complex. I can only improve what I can. Basically 75% of RPG Maker assets are not usable because the graphical styles are so different that they don't blend well. So I don't have that many choices, and that's why things look a bit empty. I'll try to improve that in the future but this is definitely the part of the game that will probably keep looking a bit more bland than the rest :/
no you dont need to improve visuals is fine if you do but not necessary i just mean adding stuff to reward exploration is all you need to do. right now is looking great
