Pantyhose Project — Part 2: Texture & Shine Testing
The Pantyhose Project continues.
This update features my newest model, Akane Masori, and focuses on something I've been trying to improve for a long time: creating a more realistic pantyhose appearance without making the material look wet or overly glossy.
After a lot of testing, I finally figured out how to achieve the effect I was looking for by editing the texture spec files directly. The goal was to create that tight, stretched fabric appearance with subtle shine while still preserving the look of actual pantyhose.
Finding the right balance wasn't easy. Too little shine and the material looks flat. Too much shine, and it starts looking like latex or wet skin. I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the values until I found something that felt much closer to the look I wanted.
To help with the process, I studied a variety of real-world reference images and paid close attention to how light interacts with different types of pantyhose fabric, especially around the thighs, hips, calves, and feet.
For this test, Akane is showcasing the current version of the texture work, along with comparison images that show the project's inspiration and the final results achieved in the engine.
I'm personally very happy with how this version turned out, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
🧦 Do the textures look more realistic?
✨ Is the shine level where it should be?
👠 What color pantyhose would you like to see tested next?
More updates are coming as I continue refining the materials and expanding the color lineup.

Definitely love where this version is! I think seeing a pair of white pantyhose next time would be nice
I do have Red, Black, and Smoke (Gray). I am fighting with white because of the texturing. It looks more like white-painted skin than pantyhose. I will show off the other pantyhose colors in a later update :)
