What was the plan for Overwhored?

It seems fairly unlikely I'll get a chance to make Overwhored 2 at this point. So I decided that I should take a bit to talk about what the plan was for the fans of it here.

First, the game would have been Overwhored Rise 2 Heaven. I likely would have paired it with a remake, as the original is an RPG maker game and hasn't aged too well. It is one of the best RPG maker games out there, but that isn't saying much. I would have added to the original game but I would have kept a lot of it intact.

Anyway, Overwhored ended with the Overmind defeating the Spirit of Chaos that had possessed him since the beginning of time. The Tower of Heaven, the final dungeon, is half of a tower that broke off from the heavens and landed in the mortal world. So the goal of the game is to return the Overmind home and figure out what he was supposed to do there.

Most of the original cast would have returned, and the plan was to simply add a lot of cast as time went on. It's a harem game after all.

The entry point into the games main location, the Heavenly City, would have happened at the other end of the Tower of Heaven. This is the Tower of Midnight.

The Heavenly City has a peculiar shape, with each "zone" representing a time of day. The outer layer and shittiest section is called the "Midnight City". I wouldn't be able to afford M83 for the soundtrack, but you can imagine it playing there.
The Throne Room in the Tower of Midnight
The entire city would have been bathed in perpetual darkness. This would have been your new base of operations, similar to the tower in the original game. The visual theme I had for the game was "cyberfantasy", which is to say using a fantasy aesthetic with a cyberpunk glow up.

The view from the tower of Midnight

You might have noticed the white fluid filled canals. The game starts with those empty. While they're an obvious double-entendre, they were meant in gameplay terms to represent holy energy, which the locals can use like a replicator to make anything they want. The city would be entirely devoid of men, inhabited only by women. People are segregated in the city by their virtue. The City of Midnight is a place for the worst of the worst, ruled by a fallen Empress of a previous era. She would be the first antagonist/party member you recruit.
The Queen's Hideout

The first quest would involve you removing the blockers to the flow of holy power, letting it flow freely and improving the quality of life for the City of Midnight's inhabitants. Not much, since it'd be blocked off further up, but it would be improved.

Now for the structure of the city itself. It's built like a huge mountain, reaching up into a starless sky towards the Goddess's Star. This is where the goddess lives. And where all the men disappeared to. Hmm... Maybe the Overmind wasn't the only one corrupted by a Chaos Spirit after all.

The 3d model showing plot progression

The map had one other interesting feature; if you went "underground" the city turns inside out. Instead of being a mountain, it's a tunnel. This would be mostly used for "Qlippoth" style extra bosses representing corrupted virtues. More weird feathery angel monster instead of cute girls, for challenges and unlocking secrets. There would also be a city down there. I don't have a proper render of it, so just think, "O'neil Cylinder", or "Light at the end of the tunnel".
Despite the city's construction, the ground is flat if you're standing on it wherever you are.
The Personal Quarters in the Tower of Midnight

All of this would culminate in you reaching the gates of heaven and entering a new zone, climbing up to the top. There would of course be seven zones. There would also be seven gates keeping people in their proper spot in the afterlife.

I'll add more detail in future posts. I hope this proves entertaining for everyone! There's not much point in keeping it to myself anymore.

All art was done by Idlecum back in the day, with 3d renders by Sacb0y.
