tl;dr I'm reducing my schedule slightly this year, and also discovered a billing issue. Nothing should change for you, but full transparency is below.
Billing Issue
Before posting today, I discovered my profile was still in Vacation Mode, despite an expiry date of Dec 31st, which means recurring billing was suspended for all of January. I've contacted support just to ask what on earth has gone on, even if it means the mistake was mine.
I'm not asking for any retrospective payment or for you to do anything different.
In order to fix this, my plan is to just swap January with a non-billing month I was planning to take anyway.
If you were a new joiner in January, then this will mean you'll end up paying for one more month than I'll be posting, so please pause or stop your subscription if you wish.
if this spooks any of you then there are absolutely no hard feelings in pausing or suspending. I prefer to have active billing only while I'm working, and only ever charge for months where I post. This feels like the solution that makes the most sense to me, but please reach out if you have any concerns. I still intend to have nine billing months, and nine posts this year.

New Schedule
This year I'm aiming to post three months consecutively, then take a break. Essentially, April, August, and December were to be suspended-billing months, but with the above issue I'm instead swapping April for January. The posting dates might wobble because of this issue, but you can expect three posts before the end of April (including Brother Knows Best XX, which just went up). Normal, end of month posting will return from May.
Why the Change?
The last two years have seen me struggle with time and energy as the second half of the year rolls on.
I don't often talk about the workload, but it takes 6-8 working days to get one story and picture done, and that's not including the in-between noodling and obsessing over ideas and planning during my free time. The structure really helps me, but it can also be exhausting sticking to it.
I'm hoping taking an extra month off will help share the load and allow some more relaxation time.
