The Silhouette and The Forge
Chapter 57

“Ladies and gentlemen please welcome our special guest star, Daniel Cunningham!” The host of the online show said grandly. He almost sounded like those announcers from wrestling or boxing matches.

I walked into the room, waving at the cameras, ignoring the applause from no one but a machine. Numerous neon signs and other memorabilia about gaming hang from the walls and adorn the host's Jason Steepler's desk.

He clapped alongside the YouTuber Blake Lively who had been preaching praises about me as she stood from her seat alongside Jason. Shaking his hand along with Blake's.

Blake herself had her iconic cut short hair that hung in loose strands just past her ears with some goth eye shadow around her eyes and black lipstick, a punk rock band t-shirt, and some faded jeans.

Jason wore a goofy suit that was more for being a rebel with the tears in it with different logos stitched into it.

“Glad you could make it, Daniel. And I must say it is an honor to meet the man who graced us with two of the greatest horror games we have seen in a long time. Ain’t that right Blake?”

“Yes! I have so many questions to ask you!” She nearly squealed in excitement but managed to get herself under control while trying to hide how she was eyeing me up like a nice juicy steak.

“Well, I am glad I managed to impress you two and get you and many others to enjoy the games. The team and I worked hard on them and hope we can keep it up with future installments.” I sheepishly said while shrugging off the praise.

“Oooh! You hear that everyone, we might get some hints on where future games might go!” Jason said, nearly vibrating in his office chair which had a drastic redesign looking like something the Emperor in Star Wars would have used.

“I can give some hints near the end of the interview if you guys want. So what questions do you guys want to start with?” I asked both of them with a small smile.

I wasn’t dressed to impress myself simply wearing a heavy metal band shirt I took a shine to with jean pants and sneakers. Yet I seemed to be the center of attention beyond just being here for an interview about the games since people had been reaching out for some time to talk about the games. I figured it was high time I did so to drum up hype for the other upcoming projects and give these two and their viewers a taste of what is to come.

“Wow, already getting to the meat of things! That I can respect. You have no idea how many times I have done interviews and they just go over random stuff that while impressive no one really cares about!” Jason said exasperatedly.

I nod in commiseration of him going through that alongside Blake. “Yeah, I agree. We all know what we are here for, why waste yours and everyone’s time?” A shrug before looking between the two of them. “So who wants to start?”

Just when Blake was about to speak Jason looked down at his desk frowning and tilting his head before his eyes widened. “W-well I guess we have a surprise guest appearing.”

Both Blake and I shared a look as we turned to look at Jason who was smiling nervously as we all looked towards the stairs that led into the room.

“Everybody give a round of applause for the most eligible bachelor in Gotham,” Of course, he showed up now of all times, “The most generous man in Gotham, the one, the only, Bruce Wayne!”

Bruce walked into frame in a casual suit with Jason vigorously shaking his hand and Blake taken aback having believed I was the only guest looking at Jason but she got up and gently shook Bruce’s hand.

Bruce took a seat in the chair that wouldn’t be out of place in a family home beside me. “Glad to be here everyone.”

Jason was at a loss for words. To be fair to the guy he just had one of the richest men in the world appear randomly on his show probably through a massive donation on Bruce’s part for Jason’s charity he was doing for needy children.

“Apologies for being so short-notice. I heard about your charity and figured a small donation to help and I get an excuse to see my good friend Daniel.” Bruce said, patting my shoulder as I smiled chuckling.

“N-no need to apologize Bruce! You just donated the most we have ever gotten, breaking our previous record. Letting you on the show is the least we could do!” Jason drummed his fingers along his desk before clearing his throat. “So you want to ask the first question, Blake?”

“Yes!” She quickly returned to her excited demeanor despite the surprise guest as I turned to face her, getting comfortable in the chair. “Did you have any doubts or hesitation going into the dark topics you wanted to show and express in the two Silent Hill games?”

“Oh absolutely! I don’t know many people who would wholeheartedly go through with it without having any last-second doubts. I went through with it because the games wouldn’t be the same without it and how much of the game's core themes rely on those darker subjects most others shy away from. It’s why I am thankful that my friends and I decided to develop it ourselves instead of trying to get a known publisher to financially support us.”

“You ain’t kidding on that. Any one of them would have censored you to hell and back.” Jason piped in, earning a series of nods and agreements.

Jason decided to ask the next question, “So at the end of the first game, we see the supposed god,” He uses air quotes for the cult's deity, “Was that truly their deity?” He leaned forward on the desk completely focused on me.

“Yes and no,” That comment earned me a confused blink, “It was a part of their deity but it was corrupted and twisted into something that was far from the original goddess. So it wasn’t truly the goddess the Order worshipped and desired to bring into the main world from the fog world in the end. Think of what they did as taking a fragment of the goddess and through their ritual had corrupted it, turning it into what you see in the finale.”

Jason looked like he had just had his entire world shaken as he began to grasp and understand what was said.

“I will admit I don’t have much time for video games but I have made time to play yours, Daniel. Is it all alright if I ask a question of my own?” Bruce asked, looking towards the other two, and both enthusiastically nodded towards him to go ahead. “What was the inspiration for Pyramid Head beyond being the tormentor of James?”

“Ooooh, that’s a good question!” Blake agreed, looking towards Daniel with keen interest in her favorite monster in any media.

I let out a sigh before chuckling. Looking Bruce right in the eyes with a look that I gave my best in acting to convey he doesn’t want that answered, “Bruce… You're a good man and I will say this-- you personally are not going to like the answer. Please ask something else. Anything else?”

Both Blake and Jason tilted their heads now even more curious about what the inspiration for Pyramid Head was. Bruce paused thinking it over before he leaned down looking into my eyes with a kind but earnest look. “I can handle it just as they can Daniel. What was the inspiration?”

I shook my head before giving him a neutral look devoid of emotion. Even though Pyramid Head was meant entirely as a means to torment James in the original game I hadn’t failed to notice the similarities between it and other things in this world.

“You were.”

All sound died in the room. Neither Blake nor Jason said a thing looking confused. They didn’t understand how Bruce could be connected to something like that. He wasn’t. At least not originally as far as I knew in the original Silent Hill 2. It was just a random connection that had overlap with his night shift job that had enough overlap for me to do what I am about to do.

It was annoying that he was here on this random stream and it was even more annoying that he was keeping a sharper eye on me than he had before. Whether that was out of concern or to ensure I wasn’t fully onboard with what my father was trying to do.

“What?” He asked, face scrunched up as he sifted through the puzzle presented to him.

“You were the inspiration for Pyramid Head. Just as you were partly for James but the difference was how you both handled the guilt you bear. James would beat himself down as it consumed him, you used it to help others. I am surprisingly good at reading people and seeing the… I wouldn’t say the real them but the darker parts they try to hide from the world.” My tone grew somber and saddened when looking at Bruce who was completely taken aback.

“I think I know what made that dark part of you… and I’m sorry I nor anyone else can fix it. That dark part of you that wants out. Like Pyramid Head, it seeks the guilty. Where Pyramid Head seeks the guilty regardless of innocence. But there is another character you helped inspire. The goddess spoken of in the Orders legend.”

“You mean like how she introduced death to the people as an act of mercy to bring their suffering to an end?” Blake said, drawing my attention briefly. My small nod and approving smile had her blush a little but it was swept away with the sad look she gave Bruce.

“Yes. Light and darkness. Bruce has both in him. One seeks retribution for past misdeeds, the other balances it by ensuring those who need help get it.”

You could hear a pin drop in the room. Both Blake and Jason were silent, both looking between Bruce and me not knowing what to say to that revelation.

Bruce did something even I hadn’t expected. His head dipped low but a small chuckle escaped him. Not one of happiness, more relief. Of what I know and what I could only assume my father didn’t know. He wiped away a stray tear that had formed out of the corner of his eye.

“I don’t know what to say, Daniel. I suppose… I should thank you.”

Blake and Jason both blinked at that before their mouths slowly formed into smiles once they could decide on an emotion to express.

I waved Bruce off. “You shouldn’t. I merely saw something in you and took inspiration from it and made three titular characters in the games from it. If anything I should thank you. I hope you don’t take offense.” I winced knowing how it must feel for him to learn that such a monster as Pyramid Head was inspired by him.

Even if it wasn’t, no one here is going to know about that.

“You might be right. But I thank you all the same. Most people would just see the bad parts, but not the good ones. That’s one heck of a gift you have.” He said as his eyes appeared kind, becoming soft.

“More like a massive pain in the ass. None of you could imagine some of the things I have seen in some real sleaze balls.” I said faking a wince.

The others all gave disgusted looks already imagining the things I supposedly had seen or felt from those types of people. After that, the tension that had permeated the room faded away as the three of them asked me more questions about the games, the development process, and design choices for the monsters. Even the subject for the music got brought up.

The three had nothing but praises for the games, even when questioning why I didn’t do this or that in the game it was met with calm acceptance when I simply said we hadn’t thought of doing that. We are a small team was the excuse given which further impressed everyone.

The stream ended up acquiring far more viewers than anyone had expected. My appearance had already driven the numbers up, but Bruce showing up and all the revelations getting dropped on them about his influence in the game's characters just added fuel to the growing inferno.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this became one of the most viewed streams and videos for a long time to come. Only beaten out by things like me pulling my stunt at the gala or when Poseidon himself decided to pop up and flood the capital.

Jokes were had, laughter and cheer could be heard across the room, and plenty of information on the game was dropped.

“Before we call the stream to an end I recall that at the beginning of this you two and your viewers were interested in the sequel. Well, I can tell you this Blake,” She perked up now looking focused, the happy smile gone as she looked ready to dissect every word I would say. “In Silent Hill 3 the Order will be making another move and you’ll get some answers to your theories regarding it.”

Her mouth twisted upward into an ecstatic grin. Jason spoke up next sounding excited, “So you're going back to Heather’s storyline?”

“Yes, we are continuing that particular part of the story. Also, I think it’s time I also showed you and your viewers our next game we intend to launch.”

“Oh right!” Jason said having completely forgotten the link I told him about that he could click onto and he did just that.

He even pulled it up on the TV mounted on the wall. The viewers for the stream and everyone in the room watched the screen come to life.

It wasn’t anything too fancy but a game that came to mind as an original concept. The title screen showed the name-- Bunny Luv. The music was creepy yet adorable.

The screen showed a little kid playing around a park and eventually stumbling across a talking skull with a gem with a number carved into it that was embedded in its forehead. The skull granted wishes and the kid wished for a pet rabbit of all things.

Then the screen cutaway showed him running and fighting for his life from the rabbit. The rabbit itself had a demonic but cute voice as it talked about how much it loved him. Loved him to death. How much love hurts.

Even got a bark of laughter out of both Jason and Blake at the dialogue and the kid fighting back against the rabbit in both gritty survival mixed with the comedy of Looney Tunes.

Bruce even had a smile on his face. I think it was just him being polite even after I subtly showed his darker alter ego without anyone even noticing. He didn’t seem upset about it. But it was hard to say with the man.

Eventually, the stream came to an end and I left the building that Jason rented a room out to stream in with Bruce by my side.

“That game looked really fun. I am sure everyone will love it when it is released.” Bruce made idle chat with me smiling.

“Glad to hear you thought so. Hopefully so does everyone else.”

“I think they will, and if you need some financial support I can help you and your developer friends out?” Bruce was doing this out of goodwill. I think? The guy was harder to read than most people gave him credit.

Nearly impossible to tell if he was doing this to keep an eye on me, either to make sure I don’t become a villain, or my connection to Silhouette. Unless he had his suit on and I could see his vitals which gave far more knowledge on what was going on under the surface beyond his calm heartbeat.

I waved him off. “Appreciate the offer Bruce but we managed to get enough from the sales of Silent Hill 2 to get by. Combined with our online site for gaming we are doing pretty well for ourselves.”

“Well, I am glad you are doing well for yourselves. If you ever need help or assistance don’t hesitate to contact Jade or me. Before I forget to ask, everything alright after that bomb was dropped on you about all those businesses?” He asked with a concerned look.

I almost missed a step but Bruce grabbed my shoulder. Even though it was an act I appreciated him grabbing me. Showed he cared.

I shook my hand in a so-so gesture. “While it’s nice having the income, it’s all incredibly suspicious and took way too much time to delegate things and get some people hired to inspect the state of the mines and treatment of the workers.”

“I understand. You wouldn’t believe how much time and effort it took to get my company in good enough shape that I didn’t need to control everything and not be worried it would come crashing down if I wasn’t around. How Luthor does it is beyond me.” Bruce looked up at the sky as if it would give us any answers to our problems that plagued us so much.

But we were both mature enough to know better than to count on something like that happening. If for some odd reason, the sky decided to drop the answer to all of Batman’s problems in his lap then he had better be ready for whatever great tragedy will be coming for him. Nothing like that happens without something getting taken from you. Especially Bruce.

“I can only imagine how bad it was for you. What I dealt with might as well be a minor migraine compared to the absolute shit show you had to deal with sorting out whatever corruption and issues that had cropped up in your company over the years.”

“Like you wouldn’t believe. I called in some favors that were owed to me.” He said, making me look at him with a clueless but suspicious expression. “They did some digging and couldn’t find anything. Despite how you shouldn’t have had the money to do it when the acquisition of the companies was done in your name it is legal and you are the legal owner of arguably the biggest mining conglomerate on the planet. Congratulations.”

Bruce held his hand out for me to shake. I stared at it then at him for a second before gingerly taking it. “I’d rather not be the owner of such a thing. Sounds like too much work and a whole lotta trouble comes with it.”

Bruce scoffed. “More than you could imagine.”

“You're not exactly filling me with confidence Bruce,” I said with a nervous chuckle.

He slowed down and leaned down placing a hand on my shoulder to reassure me. “As I said before. If you ever need help, don’t hesitate to contact me. So how long have you known?”

His question made me blink then take on that expression someone has when they realize what someone was subtly referring to. “A little after I started up my clinic I had suspicions about you. Suspicions that got worse when you handled Woodrot and the oversized rat at the college helping Kirk out when you did.”

Bruce nodded slowly, not giving anything away nor trying to pin me to a wall and interrogate or threaten me to remain silent on his deepest secret. “Sorry if it got you in trouble…” My hand scratched the back of my head.

Bruce playfully nudged me. “To be fair you did tell me I may not like the answers and had the decency to warn me. Plus I doubt anyone would realize what you were really referring to instead of thinking about my… personal tragedy and how I am so generous.”

“Don’t worry about the shadow in the light. I will take the secret with me to my grave. I think he already has suspicions about your relationship but I don’t think he views it as I do.” I finally said after we were almost out of the building. Bruce paused, stopping on the spot.

He gave me a small appreciative smile. “I appreciate that and will hold you to it, Daniel. And I have to agree. I am fortunate that many others haven’t gotten nearly as close to it as you and he have. He was close but not quite there.”

I made a show of pausing thinking about asking something that I was hesitant to ask. Bruce didn’t fail to notice. “Something on your mind?”

“I… I am just curious.”

“Curious about what?” He said indulging in my curiosity.

“Why do what you do? Especially when you could arguably do far more good in the public?” My question didn't confuse him since he got the gist of what I was asking.

He looked around subtly seeing how no one was around either of us before he pulled out a small device that was about as big as a pager. He pressed a button and seeing whatever was on the screen made him satisfied.

“I do it because the rampant corruption in Gotham makes any endeavor to help the people and the city nearly impossible. Too many things stop me from doing the right thing and anything that I can do would just end up used and abused by those in power or those who wish to get back at those who they believe wronged them.”

All things I had suspected and believed were the cause of why he didn’t just do things as Bruce Wayne. Showed that for all his personal power and wealth that there were things out there that even he couldn’t just beat up or throw money at to make the problem go away. Not that that was how he handled most problems. I think.

“Fair enough.” Conceding his point with it overlapping my own contemplations and speculation about his reasons. “But with the rate that the city has changed, you may no longer need to do what you have been doing.”

Bruce at least looked like he was thinking my point over but I knew he wasn’t going to stop. Not because I thought he couldn’t or wouldn’t stop. I believed he would if crime was taken care of and there was no more reason for him to continue to be the Caped Crusader.

The issue is Silhouette was still out there and if the city was to be completely free of crime then Silhouette would be the last evil in this place. It’s why the various major crime lords that were left would be handled. Striking the iron while it was hot… or at least whatever the closest thing to compare it to.

Since I would be targeting them when they are still trying to recover from the mother of all follow-up sucker punches they got put through after the fake Court did its job and the Justice League came in and cracked down on them.

Bruce shook his head with a gravely serious expression on his face. “As nice as that would be… I can’t. Not when people like Silhouette are around, Daniel. Maybe sometime in the future I could.”

I nodded in understanding. “Just don’t get yourself killed Bruce. Besides being one of the few good things that this city has going for it Jade is counting on you now as well. I’d be a bad friend if I didn’t look out for her or you.”

“I appreciate it Daniel and I don’t intend to die just yet.” He moved to walk away but stopped when I asked another question.

“So why show up unannounced? Am I on a list for people you don’t trust?”

Bruce paused frowning before he slowly nodded. “In a sense, yes. It was more to get a better measure of your character. You have great gifts Daniel, but I have seen enough in my life to know that people can easily lose their way. Not that you have, but it can happen. I trust you more than most people, such as the knowledge you have, but that means I have to keep a better watch over you more for your protection than trust.”

Making a show of thinking it over shrugging in acceptance. “Alright, I can see your reasoning. All that I ask is that you don’t go overboard with the surveillance. Rather not have you knowing what kind of toothpaste I prefer or how often I clean my apartment. It would get uncomfortable real quick with stuff like that being observed.”

Bruce nodded, shaking his head before walking away waving over his shoulder. “Take care of yourself Daniel and keep up the good work. One day we will have a brighter and better Gotham that everyone can enjoy.”

I smiled at that waving goodbye to Bruce. Oh, how right Bruce was about a better shining Gotham. It’s just he wouldn’t like the methods used to achieve it, but as things stand if I instead opted for his methods it would take far too long. That’s if it would work at all in the end. The corruption that had nestled its way into Gotham was a poisonous cancer.

The core had to be removed otherwise we would never get anything done. Next thing I knew I was in the lab checking out the machine that Wayne Tech had sent us some time ago.

It was a marvel of science and engineering even if it could be far more advanced to my discerning eyes. The machine looked like a bigger version of an air hockey table. Big, bulky, heavy, with a reinforced resin dome that was specially crafted along with every other part of it to withstand drastic temperature changes.

From extreme hot to bone-chilling cold, it could handle either and the toll it takes on anything shifting between temperatures like that so quickly. It was impressive that they managed to make this when they didn’t have access to either my engineers or my intelligence. Goes to show that as capable as I have become this world still has natural geniuses of its own.

The machine as soon as it was delivered to the lab was put to work attempting to create the Extremis virus that I was going to use to further catapult my name in the science community. I had already developed some prototypes such as artificial organs that would be patented in my free time when I’m not helping Kirk or Pamela with something which was rare to happen since both had dedicated most of their time to help me.

Not that it was needed but it was appreciated all the same. I would have to pay both of them back for this, Kirk I don’t know with what but Pamela I could see enjoying a night out around Gotham. Maybe take her to a restaurant or something that she would never have been able to go to before.

“How are things looking on the atmospheric modifier?” Kirk said looking over my shoulder at the readouts.

“Looking good so far with the few samples that have survived the dozen temperature shifts. Give it a little more time and we will have our first test batch.” I said back, smiling away. Despite knowing how to create Extremis myself, this was still cool.

Who didn’t want to play a little mad scientist when they were kids? Not that we were anything crazy, just dedicated to our work. Glancing over to my board with some of Pamela’s scribbles on it.

Her handwriting looked far more legible and artistic than my own which while nice looked like it was written by a Shakespearean writer who was on crack and didn’t know a thing about organizing and placing their sentences in neat rows so you could tell what was what.

Her ideas were unique and of course, with anything involving Pamela, it had to do with plants. In her case, one of her ideas was to try and create a new breed of plant by breeding different varieties together to create a plant that could produce fruit or vegetables that had far more nutrition packed into them than your standard plant could produce.

Other ideas were next to it like a vine-like plant that could siphon out the pollution in the air or water helping make it cleaner. It was something absurd and outlandish by my old world's standards but here it was possible. Ideas already formed in my mind of how we could go about creating things like that and the processes involved.

“Well, I look forward to that myself. But remember Daniel, don’t rush this. When it comes to things involving viruses and bacteria we take our time and do not rush.” Kirk gently reminded me.

I nodded, rolling my eyes at him. “Yeah yeah yeah. I know, since this is the thirteenth time you have said this Kirk. I think we can all safely say we know the dangers that come from this type of thing.”

Kirk gave me some stink eye with one eye twitching as he opened his mouth to warn me of the severity of the danger but I cut him off. “I know the danger this poses if one of us gets infected with a new unknown virus that wasn’t what I hoped to create or what I do hope to make turns into a nightmare and god help us all if it becomes an outbreak. I know you care, Kirk. If you didn’t then you wouldn’t say anything at all.”

Whatever Kirk was about to say died in his throat, mouth open like he was trying to catch a fly. He closed it and nodded pleased. “Well, I’m glad you have been listening and have paid attention to my warnings. I know it gets annoying hearing it over and over again. But someone here has to do it to remind us all of the danger if something goes wrong.”

Kirk looked far better than he had for some time. The bags under his eyes were gone, his disheveled facial hair that was in the process of becoming a hobo beard had been shaved off and his unkempt oily hair had been thoroughly washed. He looked like a brand new man with a pep in his step. Energy that he had lacked before was plentiful, he wasn’t hunched over a microscope always looking over his shoulder for when something would go horribly wrong.

“And I appreciate it Kirk, but could you at least tone it down a little?” I pinched my thumb and index finger giving him puppy eyes as he looked at me.

“Let me think about it. Hmmmmmmm,” He made a show of contemplating my request before he crushed my hopes, “Nope!” His smile grew at the sight of my look at him cracking a joke and had him laugh even harder.

“I needed that.” He said between his laughs.

“Well I’m glad you have started cracking jokes but you need to work on your material.” I countered as he sputtered in denial.

Something caught my attention as my contacts started giving me reports. It took far more willpower than I wanted to admit to not just leave the room without a word.

There was trouble that needed my personal touch. An image of various patients and inmates running amok at Arkham.

Guards and doctors were fleeing for their lives with several already dead as the beginning of a mass breakout was happening. Looking up towards Kirk and Pamela, “How about we take a break?” I asked them.

Pamela looked up from her studies over a herb she wanted to use as the basis for one of her projects, “Sure! I could get out in the sun for a bit.”

“I could use something to eat. Alright, we reconvene in an hour. Understood?”

It didn’t take me long to leave the lab and calmly walk around without giving a thing away. Making sure the cameras and security systems in the college were compromised and showing a false feed of me walking around I stepped into a janitor's closet.

My body obeying my command elongated and stretched my clothes dropping to the floor and shoving them into a corner hidden away from prying eyes as I forced myself down the drain in the room. Moving through numerous pipes knowing which to take after some guesswork. Who the hell designed a blueprint but then decided to add more pipes into the building that were not on record needed their kneecaps shattered.

Eventually memorizing what path led to which pipeline getting further into the sewer through a pipe that was no longer in use if the lack of moisture and abundance of dust and cobwebs were anything to go by. Annoyed at being covered in who knows how much grime, a feeling of wanting it gone had never been stronger.

Just when I got near the end of the pipe to my surprise the feeling of the detritus started to fade as I heard a fizzle. Despite my lack of eyes my body was more like the T-1000 from the Terminator films. I didn’t have eyes any longer in the traditional sense. Instead, my entire body could see. I could feel, hear, taste but it was different compared to my old normal body-- well normal for me.

A human like any animal with eyes sees through them. How my body does it is beyond the engineers and me. Heli when she discovered that tidbit wanted to shake me like I owed her money when she couldn’t figure out how I was able to see.

It was the familiar sound of chemicals reacting to things around it. Seeing that the grime was smoking before fading away with faint wisps of smoke as my body bubbled. Even the metal pipes and concrete in the sewers weren’t safe. It melted like it was butter shoved in the microwave.

Mentally commanding it to stop and it did. The damage was only around where my body had touched it as I slithered my way out of the pit I had formed. Looked straight out of an alien movie when the monster's acid blood melted through the floor.

Though I was rather annoyed because now the contacts and whatever else I had as a means to stay in the know on what was happening in Arkham just got melted by my acid.

“So cool…” I said aloud my body vibrating when my voice came out. It sounded like it always had, which was kind of creepy.

Pulling myself together as my shape changed into the signature look of Silhouette. Slime and goop coalesced into an intimidating figure with a trench that was oddly solid and separate from my body with the gas mask and hat taking form. Then came the colors. Or lack of I should say with my form adopting the various shades of black.

Then after several agonizing seconds since I wasn’t about to let the court jester escape the asylum I rushed through the tunnels at a speed that the human eye couldn’t hope to keep up with. Left, right, down, up, and even through some cracks in a wall my form slipped through it all with speed, strength, and a flexibility far beyond a normal person's.

Stopping at a nondescript wall before melting down into a puddle before finding the tiniest seam imaginable and forcing my way into it accessing the network we had set up and saw the damage and where everyone was.

“Don’t worry Joker, you’ll get your punchline. It just won’t be the kind you wanted.” I said gathering up some equipment and giving out orders.
