2025 Retrospective and My Plans for 2026
Hello, everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to look back on 2025 when it comes to my writing. It's been a tough year for a lot of reasons, and as I went back and took a look at everything I did manage to publish, I can't help but feel a bit mixed on things. It was not a good year for my mental health at all, and there was a LOT of effort to claw words from the ol' noggin this year. I ended up publishing five projects of varying lengths, as well as 10k words on my Rusalka WIP before I shelved it. I felt like most of the year was spent spinning my wheels, and it was hard not to compare my more productive years to this one. Combine that with some personal problems that weighed on me in the second half of the year, and... well, it was just tough.
BUT! I gotta take the wins, too. I was proud of all the stories I did manage to publish, even if it was a hell of a fight getting the motivation to write. And then of course we had the shenanigans with Patreon, which led me here to Subscribestar! That was a huge bummer, but it is what it is -- honestly, I feel like it was for the best, though. I definitely feel like I needed a change, and it's been very motivating to prepare the page for launch. So, I'm counting it as a win!
With that in mind, I want to also take some time to talk about my plans for 2026. I'm really hoping this can be a new beginning for me, and that I can kick my writing into high gear this year. First of all, I still have a few commissions to finish, with the rest of Moonsucked coming up next. Beyond that, I have a fun and toony comm that I'm looking forward to, and I'd really love to get back to writing the Rusalka draft.
Beyond that, I hope to pick up some of my older series. I have a pretty fully fleshed-out idea for a new Pollyverse entry, and I would also like to revisit Nano-Hearts. I still need to nail down the concept for that sequel, though; I haven't thought about it in ages.
One idea I'm not quite feeling so confident in is the next story with Vivienne and Noah. I have a concept in mind, but I'm not quite sure about it after all -- perhaps I'll revisit some other ideas with them (I never did write the breakfast story or the orgy short!) I'll definitely have to think on what the best move would be.
Finally, there are a number of shorter stories and ideas I've been kicking around but never finished; some are even quite close to being done. Between Vera's story, the Thanksgiving Dead Draft, and even some old WiPs I started but never really made any headway on, there are tons of stories I'm hoping to share with all of you.
All in all, I'm definitely looking forward to this new year. I had my fair share of struggles in 2025, but I'm ready to hit the ground running and write some fun stuff for everyone! I hope you will join me on this journey and thank you for all of your support!
Until next time,
GERGLUG
