I've been getting messages from some backers of mine about where to find access to my Discord server. The situation around that is a bit complicated --and I don't necessarily understand it myself-- but to make a long story short: there isn't a proper server to join yet.
Back in 2024, when my Patreon account got indefinitely suspended, I had started constructing an official Sampson & Jewel Discord Server in the case that I needed to provide alternative means of communication to my backers (and general public followers). My plans were still to keep working on my comic full-time, so the channel contents were going to be designed entirely around the discussion and distribution of Sampson & Jewel materials. Basically a ground-zero hub for any S&J fans and enthusiasts beyond Twitter and this site.
As you all know, my comic was forced to reenter hiatus due to greater financial obligations that cannot be fulfilled while I follow my passion project. So all construction on the tailor-made Discord had gone dark ever since. By that point, I had already demo'd and tested a few connections and integrations between Subscribe Star and the server behind the scenes. The intention was to mark the end of my hiatus with the launch of a long-requested server, preloaded with all current S&J content to browse... whenever I would overcome this current chapter of my life.
Which brings us to where we are now: I don't know for certain why this popup coming up nowadays, and I'm just as confused as everyone else. Sometimes I can't seem to get it to show up for me. Heck, some folks have even found a way IN to the server, which has been its own surprise, given the unfinished state that it's currently in. Maybe there was an internal update on Subscribe Star's end that has automatically-reenabled some of those old connections, but I can't find the options in my account to disable those without severing everything (which would mess with old permissions I set up over a year ago).
For now, all I can ask is to please disregard any promises of Discord perks for the time being, at least until further notice. I apologize if you happened to have subscribed specifically for any Discord access, rewards, and opportunities, but those are not yet ready. I hope this gets resolved one way or another, and that I can come back with a proper server ready to launch sooner rather than later.
