Hello, everyone.
First and foremost, I promise this isn't just me returning with a long, boring channel update and no actual content. There's a new story post you can check out, please read this too after you're done.
I'm not sure I would say that I am back, exactly, but after roughly a year of burnout and life getting in the way I've got some stuff I'll be publishing here again. I won't go too much more into depth on that whole situation, but my motivation and free time are still kinda spotty.
Of course, as I was polishing the new stuff up the ToS changes and Wallet stuff happened.
I don't like the ToS changes. At all. Not only do they drastically limit what I can safely post on this site, I am fully aware by this point that they will only ever get more restrictive from here. The fact that this version is openly and explicitly an adult subscription site might slow that down a lot, but it really is only a matter of time.
The wallet system has... a lot potential to address that problem. I get why it's been created, and I think they'll be a good thing! For a while. As far as I can tell there is no explicit, consistent, easily-accessible information on what the 'exchange rate' for the tokens is, and exactly no language that would hold the platform accountable if they started taking advantage of that. I want to believe subscribestar has our backs, I really do, but the lack of transparency makes that very difficult considering internet history.
But what does that all mean for you? I am going to continue posting here, but I probably won't be publishing stuff early through this site anymore. Future content will be going up on this site, Questionable Questing, and potentially Ao3 at roughly the same time. (The story post that just went up being an exception, because I hadn't announced this yet.) Turning this into something I can financially rely on doesn't seem super smart or feasible right now, so it's back to purely being a tip jar.
A question to end this post: Would prefer for me to publish on Ao3 more? Currently it's got some of my stories but not nearly all.
