Warning: This blog post also contains opinions. I'm trying my hardest to not place too much vitriol in some sections.

Texas:

As mentioned previously (https://subscribestar.adult/posts/1773632), there was a bill being voted on in Texas that gives too much power to determining what is and isn't illegal for NSFW drawings. Unfortunately, both the House and Senate passed it, so it's on the way to the Governor now. It is extremely unlikely he will veto it (voting against another one of those "for the safety of children" laws will make you look like a monster), so as a result, I will stop all NSFW commissions and requests in July and begin to purge those images from all my galleries in August. This is probably a bit of an overreaction, but I really do not feel comfortable drawing any NSFW with this law being active, so I completely understand if you'd like to unsub in the future. There's probably some really specific instances of NSFW I'd be fine with drawing, but for the most part I don't feel comfortable risking it.

I don't really want to talk about the law, so please refrain from posting on here about it.

SubscribeStar:

Forgive me in advance if I start to appear more prudish in what requests I accept. I'll try my best to do everything in the backlog that is explicit so it'll still be completed before I need to do my purge. I was hoping to take a temporary SubscribeStar break in July to help catch up on things, but I will probably push that back to September so I can still get some NSFW orders in. If you'd like to get in a NSFW commission or Request, now would be the time to do so. Any sense of order I've had has been ruined a bit, so I'll have to ask that you forgive me in case requests take longer than expected again. I don't have any classes for June and July, so maybe it'll help in terms of catch up (assuming we don't get another horrific hurricane again).

House Things (Minor):

We had to call some exterminators to fix up the house a bit. It's starting to get hot, so we started seeing more creatures get in, though I don't remember it being this bad before. They had to adjust the insulation in the attics and seal up various holes around the ground floor (there was also a huge hole by the stove, apparently.) It appears to have helped a great deal.

Health:

Nothing.

Dad's Health:

He still has tubes hooked up to his abdomen. They plan on replacing them with extra bags soon. It's kind of hard to keep up sometimes with the doctor's inaction and changing their minds. Sometimes he'll get his tubes caught on the car door when we go places, so I would hope replacing them with bags will help with that (among other things).

Other (Rambling):

I've been pretty stressed out about the bill passing since I heard about it (among other things), and now it more-or-less has. I'm kind of just really annoyed. I never like it when artists delete their artwork, but now I have to do it out of necessity. It's very ironic. I was starting to get a little more comfortable posting my personal random NSFW drawings, but now this makes me want to regress again. Seeing as how I'll end up deleting these eventually anyway, I'll probably clean up some of my old unreleased drawings to post them (the ones that are already colored and shaded, anyway). I really don't want to think about cleaning up my data storage to remove all the NSFW drawings from them right now. It's going to be an extreme pain in the ass.

I'll probably post a zip or something in August with my drawings in it then delete the link before August ends (the bill takes effect September 1st). If the law ever gets removed or I move states, I'd like to resume NSFW drawings, but both of those seem extremely unlikely. I can see this law spreading to other states just like the age verification law that's going around very easily. Note: I REALLY don't care if you reupload my stuff. If you want to, go for it, even the exclusive edits I post here. Just don't claim you made the original image or sell it.

I really can't believe I only started doing SubscribeStar and commissions for a year, and now I'll need to gut a good chunk of it. I was hoping to make this post a bit less dreadful for the month, but it's hard to think about anything else at the moment. The only consolation I can see is that Dad's health didn't drop off from not being on his infusion medication for so long. This isn't a very good post to cap off the 1 year anniversary of this SubscribeStar, sorry.

Edit: Someone told me that the SCOTUS is reviewing the bill. Here's hoping that they block it.
