February | Requests + Mini-blog
Requests resume this month. You can post the request suggestion here or through the SubscribeStar / Itaku / Bluesky DM system. Hopefully, vacation mode ends properly and billing works correctly. I'm unsure of what to do if it doesn't. Edit: I manually ended it around 8:00 AM, and it appears to have worked for the most part. Payment seems a bit staggered so hopefully it gets everyone.
You have until the 14th to put in a request for the subscriber-only poll sequence. I haven't had anyone use the poll form really, so I'm suspending that (you can still DM me for the request.)
Super Hard form in next post.
Due to various circumstances, things in February might be delayed. I don't know yet. More information after the link.
Unfortunate circumstances decided to pile up at the end of the month.
Dad's Health:
My father has been in and out of the hospital practically all my life, so at first I didn't feel the need to mention him going into the hospital recently, but since he will need major surgery soon, I felt the need to bring it up.
A few days ago, Dad went into the hospital due to an abscess that formed around his abdominal region. I'd rather not go into the full details, but he has similar GI problems as I do, albeit in a much worse state. Around 2013, he had to get a major surgery done and this recent hospital visit is related to complications from that surgery (it was somewhat expected, since there was a recall with the material they used). In mid February, he will have to go back in for another major surgery (something like an ~11 hour one). The doctors want to keep him off his infusion medication until they do the surgery.
Yesterday, the doctors let him come home for a while before he has to go back to the hospital. He then told me while they were taking care of the issues, they found that he has early kidney cancer. He doesn't really have any symptoms of it yet, so it's good they found it early. We are unsure of what they will do until after the surgery in February.
Personal Health:
I'm starting to feel the effects of not having my infusion for several weeks. I can only hope telling my doctor this will get my insurance to stop dragging their feet. The timing of this is extremely poor. I'm still fine enough to draw; at worst, it's a minor inconvenience at the moment.
Edit (2/5): My insurance finally got its act together, so I can start my infusions again on Friday.
I'll provide an update if anything else happens.
I wish you and your father good health.
