Wishing Rock - Prologue

It is called by many names in folktales. The God Stone, the Magic Boulder, and the Dragon’s stone-keep are some of the names it is called in the stories. But the most common name for it is the Wishing Rock. Although it is called by many different names, all the names have a common attribute, magical power.

It is said that the stone has very powerful magic and the ability to grant a wish by changing reality, at least according to the tales. With so many stories about it, you may think many people will come to this piece of rock making their wishes. But the reality has been the complete opposite.

That is because the Wishing Rock only grants a wish of its own discretionary choice and a wish must incorporate a sacrifice by the wisher as a part of wish fulfillment. For this reason, most of the stories featuring the rock are those of cautionary tales warning everyone to stay away from the rock.

With the passage of time, people no longer believed its magic power and thought it only as something that came out in the old stories, a piece of imagination. So, the Wishing Stone was neglected and any road leading to it all fell into disrepair.

For a long time, the Wishing Rock stood in solitude until a visitor, a girl, happened to stop by. This is the story of the Wishing Rock and the hapless visitor who had no idea how her reality would be changed into something she had never imagined.

Creator's Note: This is something I started to write after an idea popped into my head while working on some presentations. I have written a few episodes worth of the story so far but the problem is the accompanying illustrations which I don't have much time for at this point. I will work on them as much spare time as I am able. Cheers!
