It didn’t take long at all for Megan Skye to finally arrive at her home. By modern housing conventions, it was as plain and ordinary as any other house; a plain living room, a plain kitchen, and a plain set of bathrooms and bedrooms. One would think that Megan was actually attempting to stand out as little possible with this set-up if not for the fact that she tried to rectify this issue just a few minutes earlier.
This resulted in the sudden adoption of her new friend, Plucky the octopus, who remained in his vase the entire way home. While the hunt for new furniture ended in failure, making a new friend was something that Megan would never consider an accident. She was just happy not only to have met Plucky, but to give him a name and a place to stay as well.
“Welcome home, Plucky!” she proclaimed with an outstretched arm before setting Plucky’s vase down. “Go on, have a look around!”
Once the vase was on solid ground, Plucky’s tentacles emerged and stood him upright. His eyes shifted every which way, taking in all the unfamiliar sights that lay before him, and his tentacles hurled him across the floor to get a good look at everything. From the TV, to the sofa, to the refrigerator, nothing could escape his sight. Especially not the refrigerator.
“Make yourself at home, Plucky, I’ll be right back!” Megan called out to Plucky. It was a little hard for Plucky to hear her since he was raiding the fridge at present, but then again, Megan didn’t notice his fridge raiding in the first place as she stepped towards her personal computer.
A thought that had occurred to Megan on the drive home was how little she actually knew about octopi. Raising one as a pet was one thing, but having barely any idea how to raise one was a recipe for disaster.
Fortunately, she always had a trusty friend to rely upon: the internet! With a stroke of the keyboard, she could instantly find out anything about any subject she wanted, provided it wasn’t made up in a sad attempt to garner traffic. Yet she found a reputable site with helpful information in no time, and began to read in earnest.
“Let’s see... ‘the octopus is a highly intelligent and curious creature, with a willingness to learn and adapt to its environment. Certain precautions should be taken, however, as the octopus likes to wrap its tentacles around anything that catches its interest...’”
Megan looked back to Plucky, only to catch him in the middle of chewing through a pack of cheese sticks. It was hard to tell if he was actually consuming them, as the sticks simply phased into the darkness of his vase as he ate them. The brief notion of disciplining Plucky did cross Megan’s mind, but she soon disregarded it; she didn’t want to make her new housemate feel bad on the first day. Instead, she went back to reading.
“‘An owner should stimulate an octopus through recreational activities whenever possible, as boredom is its greatest nemesis...’ I can do that!” she concluded with a smile.
She looked back to Plucky, who by now was waving the empty pack of cheese sticks around in the air.
“Hey, Plucky! Wanna play catch?” she asked, as she grabbed a nearby baseball seated on her desk.
Plucky looked at the baseball with intrigue, scuttling up to Megan and tilting his head at her. Megan beamed at him brightly.
“I knew you’d be up for it!” she exclaimed pleasantly, giving the ball a toss. Plucky watched it fly through the air and bounce across the floor, and then looked back at Megan. Evidently, throughout all its years of being an octopus, nobody ever taught him how the game of Catch worked. Megan would have to improvise.
“Go on, Plucky. Go get the ball!” she encouraged. Plucky, realizing what she wanted of him, scrambled after the ball, then soon returned with the ball in hand. Megan smiled; guess that talk about octopi being quick learners was true!
“Good boy!” she praised, taking the ball from Plucky’s arm and patting his vase. It didn’t take her long for her arm to wind up again, however. “Alright, Plucky, here it comes...!”
Megan threw the ball again, but this time, Plucky’s tentacle shot into the air and caught the ball before it could fly pass him. He stared at Megan while he dribbled the ball. Megan was nonplussed by the sudden action, and got to thinking that Plucky may have learned too much in too short a time.
“Ooooookay then.” was all she could manage to say. If Plucky could reduce the game of Catch down to the most efficient means already, then he most likely was bored with the game already. Megan wasn’t about to take this lying down, however, and quickly tried to think of how else to play with Plucky...
Then the idea came to her.
“How about Hide and Seek?” she queried. The offer prompted another head tilt from Plucky; this was a good thing, as Megan found out, as it meant that he was at the very least willing to learn.

---

The rules of Hide and Seek were as simple as Megan could make them for Plucky; one person takes the time to hide, while the other person ventures forth to seek them. Things should have gone swimmingly from there, but there were two obstacles presented before Plucky. The first was that he had never played the game of Hide and Seek in his entire life, and the second was that he was unfamiliar with Megan’s hiding strategies.
This might have explained why Plucky’s method of seeking was... short-sighted, to say the least. He checked every spot he could think of - under the seat cushion, beneath the sofa, behind the TV, even within the refrigerator - but none of those spots held any trace of his target. Of course, it never occurred to him that Megan was incapable of hiding in such places even if she wanted to, but that didn’t stop him from checking literally every nook and cranny in the house.
In fact, he continued this tactic as he slithered his way down the hallway past the kitchen. He peered behind a picture of wilderness framed onto the wall just in case there was a sign of Megan, when suddenly...
“Isshu!”
Plucky whipped his body around in an instant. His eyes frantically searched the hallway, trying to find the source of that noise... until he spotted a certain door. It looked like any number of doors in the hallway, bound to lead at least somewhere. Where exactly it would lead to was a mystery, however, as it remained tightly shut while two other doors opened to the bathroom and bedroom respectively.
Even if this was all a red herring, Plucky felt as though he were on to something. He cautiously approached the closed door, inspecting it from all angles. Then, he gently stuck one of his tentacles underneath the door frame, feeling around for anything of significance. While nothing stuck out at him right away, he found that his arm was coiling around a long, cylindrical object.
...And the more his tentacle interacted with said object, the more he could hear something. Something that sounded like stifled giggling. His eyes widened in realization.
Wasting no time, Plucky retracted his tentacle, then flung the door open. Inside the closet was Megan, doing her best to cover the smile on her face. One would normally be disappointed at having finally been caught, but Megan greeted Plucky with that familiar smile.
“Hey, you found me!” she said eagerly, patting Plucky on the head. “You’re pretty good at this, huh?”
Considering the amount of time and wasted effort it took to resolve this game, anyone else would have found this comment absolutely patronizing. Plucky, however, felt proud of his accomplishment, and accepted his headpats with grace.
“Now it’s your turn! I’ll count to 30, and then you have to find a place to hide, okay?” Megan wasted no time in preparing herself, turning away from Plucky and covering her eyes. “One... Two... Three...”
It took Plucky longer than it should have for him to realize he was on the clock. In a panic, he scrambled off to who-knows-where, doing his best to find the hiding spot that only he could think of.
“...Twenty-Eight... Twenty-Nine... Thirty!” Megan concluded. She uncovered her eyes and called out through the rest of the house. “Ready or not, here I come~!”
And so, the hunt was on! A normal human like Megan had her fair share of limits when it came to hiding, but an octopus’ chances were far greater! Who knew where it could have been, with its body that could squeeze into almost any space? He would no doubt give Megan a search to remember!
She turned her head towards her bedroom and immediately found Plucky’s vase resting on her bed. Two of his tentacles were sticking out, which did indeed confirm it was him underneath the vase.
Rather than be disappointed by how easy it was to find him, however, Megan’s eyes remained transfixed on his tentacles. Even underneath the dull ceiling lights, their slimy coating shimmered brightly, and their coloring remained wondrous to look at. If Plucky were indeed trying to hide, he probably should have done a better job tucking those dead giveaways out of sight.
It was then that a thought popped into Megan’s head; this was probably the first time she had seen Plucky let his guard down since he entered her house... A sneaky smile appeared on her face as she thought of the perfect way to capitalize on this outcome.
“I fooound youuuu~” she sang quietly. Before Plucky even had a chance to react, Megan leaped onto the bed.
“Tickle fight!!” she proclaimed, her fingers dancing along Plucky’s tentacles. “Let’s see what you’re made of!”
For a second, it felt as though Plucky barely reacted to Megan’s sudden attack. But while she was in the middle of her tickle onslaught, the tips of his tentacles rose from the bed, wriggling onto Megan’s belly in retaliation.
“Wh- Pffhehehehe! Ahehehehehehe!”
That was all it took for Plucky to find a weak spot. Megan’s tummy was an especially sensitive spot, so much so that her coordinated strike stopped as soon as it began. Spurred on by this, Plucky upped the ante; while Megan was focused on her belly, it allowed for his other tentacles to reach other delicate areas, such as her thighs, her lower back, and her ankles. In no time at all, Megan’s body was tingling all over, while she was howling with laughter.
“Ehehehahahaha!! Your arms! They’re all o-AHAHAHAHAHA!!” Having all these tentacles tickling Megan’s body made her lose focus completely, leaving her sprawled out on the bed. Plucky was the clear victor of this brouhaha, but though Megan was reduced to a giggling mess on her bed, she couldn’t help but enjoy herself.

“A little more to the left.”
Elsewhere, Kamika Malagic and her cronies had finally returned home with her new mattress. This would have been the point where they simply replaced the old mattress and put this whole business behind them, but Kamika was now unsatisfied with where the bed lay before. So, in what could only be described as a last act of vengeance against her flunkies, she made them carry the bed every which way in her bedroom until they had it positioned just right.
...Unfortunately, every time they found a good spot to place it, they would be told to move it to some other spot, a demand that seemed to occur every five minutes.
“No, go back,” she stated, as if to prove that very point. The gargoyles groaned, shuffling their feet against the floor as they dragged the bed back to where it came from.
“C’moooon, Mistress, this is takin’ forever!” Trouble whined. “It’s gotta at least be past dinner by now!”
Kamika, who had been laying on the mattress this entire time, glowered at Trouble.
“You’re not GETTING any dinner until things are EXACTLY how I want them!” she hissed.
The succubus took a good, long look at the bed’s current position, and realized the bed wasn’t nearly close enough to the window. Realizing the great tragedy of no one being able to witness the beauty that lived in this house, she ordered her minions again.
“Move towards the window.”
Trouble, in the midst of his lifting, whispered to Toil.
“We’re gonna be reduced to rubble at this rate,” he mentioned.
“Somethin’ll give eventually,” Toil whispered back. For a gargoyle being made to withhold his appetite for a prolonged period of time, he was taking his forced servitude quite well. Or maybe it was a front for how truly defeated he felt inside.
It was during their approach to the window that a curious sound filled the air. Whatever it was certainly was loud, but it was also pleasant and fluttery.
“What the...?” Kamika glanced out the window, the strange sound making her immediately perturbed.
“Hey. D’ya hear that?” Toil asked as he stopped in his tracks.
“Yeah,” responded Trouble, his ears turning towards the window. “It sounds like someone’s laughin’!”
Double-Double, who had been managing a solo effort on the opposite side of the bed, also noticed the laughing.
“...It is not of my doing,” he stated, as though to reassure everyone else.
Kamika balled her hand into a fist.
“No... it's Megan. What’s she getting so happy about?” she said with contempt.
Whether indirectly or otherwise, Megan always seemed to have a way of getting under Kamika’s skin. Rising from her bed, she stomped over to the window and lifted it up, sticking her head outside to let her complaints be known.
“HEY!! KEEP IT DOWN ALREADY!!!” she shrieked at the top of her lungs. Unfortunately, not even her booming voice caused Megan’s laughing to cease. Now Kamika was less annoyed and more... well, she was still annoyed, but she was also quite befuddled. What would cause Megan to ignore a scream like that? This would require further investigation...

---

After a solid minute of tickle torture, Megan was left gasping for breath on her bed. Plucky had made his overwhelming advantage at tickle fights known, and was now content to simply watch Megan collect herself.
“Hehehe... man, I thought I had you for a second,” Megan spoke in between breaths. Eventually, she sat herself up on the bed, but enduring an onslaught of ticklish tentacles had left her worn out.
“Whew! I’m beat,” she admitted, turning to Plucky while rubbing her back. “But we had a lot of fun today, didn’t we?”
Plucky nodded in agreement. It was hard for him to think of a day in his life that went as well as today, and he wanted it to continue! But, as he got a good look at Megan, he could see this was starting to take its toll on her...
Megan seemed to pick up on his concern.
“Oh, don’t worry about me!” she tried to assure him, yet it was hard for her to hide her enervation. “I think I just need to rest up after all that.”
As much as Megan tried to ease his worries, Plucky couldn’t help but feel bad. It was easy for him to forget that humans weren’t as soft or pliable as he was, and his rather demanding playtime had left Megan drained. He felt as though he should correct this somehow...
It didn’t take long for an idea to pop into his head, however. He tapped Megan on the shoulder.
“Hm? What is it, Plucky?” Megan could only watch as Plucky pantomimed his idea over to her. His tentacles hung in the air and scrunched the tips repeatedly, like he was revving up a motorcycle. It took Megan a second to guess what this all meant, but eventually she found her answer.
“...You wanna give me a massage?” she asked, to which Plucky nodded enthusiastically. If Megan were to be honest, a massage did sound good right about now... maybe it would even alleviate this fatigue she was feeling.
“Ehehe, sure, why not,” Megan consented, leaning against Plucky’s pot. “A good massage before bed shouldn’t hurt.”
Relieved that Megan accepted his offer, Plucky got straight to work. Yet he found that, when he tried to apply a tentacle to her back, there was a piece of fabric in the way... he poked at it for a couple seconds before Megan realized what was happening.
“Oh! Right, almost forgot.” Sitting up a bit, she silently and delicately removed her shirt, leaving her torso exposed save for the white bra that covered her small chest. Tossing the shirt to the side, she leaned back again. “Okay, I’m all yours!”
With the signal given to him, Plucky began his work. Two of his tentacles draped themselves over Megan’s shoulders, giving them a good rub like how he demonstrated. This was only the start of the massage, but Megan felt a tingle down her spine nearly immediately.
“Oooo~ You’re pretty good at this, aren’tcha?” Megan cooed, her arms resting softly on the bed. But Plucky wasn’t done yet; this was just the start.
Another tentacle propped itself onto Megan’s back, treating it gently with slow, circular movements. Two more tentacles softly rubbed her thighs, while another pair reached down and wrapped around her ankles to give them a delicate rubdown. His final tentacle wrapped around her belly, its smooth form pulsating every so often. It was during this full-body massage that Megan’s smile slowly morphed into a loopy grin.
“Ahhh~ This feels really niiiiice~” she sighed heavenly. She could feel the careful touch and feel of each tentacle as they wriggled and undulated across her body, stimulating her skin like nothing she had ever felt before. As slimy and sticky as the tentacles were, they were also basking her in a dreamy comfort, from which she felt an indescribable sense of contentment.
With all this extra attention being given to her, Megan started to feel more and more drowsy by the second. No matter how hard she struggled to keep her eyelids open, they continually drooped further and further, until at last her will gave out.
“Mmmm... nighty-night~” she whispered as she drifted off into a deep slumber. With his task complete, Plucky’s tentacles ceased all movement. All he had to do was see the peaceful look on her face to know that he had accomplished what he could.
Slowly, so as not to disturb Megan’s rest, Plucky draped the blanket over her and tucked her into bed, while he took refuge in the corner of Megan’s room and took a rest of his own.
...Unbeknownst to either of them, some familiar eyes had been watching them from the lowest part of the window. Kamika Malagic watched the entire scene with shock plastered onto her face, while her minions were similarly baffled by what had played out.
“Did you see that???” Kamika hissed. “When did Megan get an octopus of all things?!”
“Yeah. You’d think a girl like her would’ve preferred a dog instead,” Toil commented.
“Or a bat! I hear those are gettin’ more popular with girls lately!” Trouble added, though his contributions to the conversation were quickly ignored.
“We have only borne witness to the introduction of an animal to her abode,” concluded Double-Double, who was the only one who did not see the issue at present. “Is this really a matter to take issue with?”
“Of course it is!” Kamika snapped back. “That stupid Megan thinks she can keep that bundle of slimy goodness all to herself, huh?? Well, we’ll see who has the last laugh…”
Double-Double could only fear that Kamika was quickly brewing up another pitiful plan. His suspicions were only confirmed as Kamika drew the entourage into a huddle, where she made her wants and desires known...
