New version of Hypnolab available!
Finally, after a long long stretch of waiting, we've updated Hypnolab! This new version has expanded massively since our last update!
In this version:
- A new quest system! Search for, find, and use all your favorite hypnotic devices on Kady!
-Full voice acting! Hear Kady tell you just how much she likes getting the H.
-New hidden hypno-worlds. Can you find them all and discover every hidden secret?
-A cheat system if you've gotten stuck!
-You can now open the lab door and explore part of the Ivory Peaks corporation!
-Updated graphics, systems, and more!
Note that this version does not yet have a keyboard and mouse version. We'll update that as soon as we're 100% sure we're ready for it. This updates the virtual reality build at this point in time. Let us know what you think!
Subscribers of the right rank can use a link to the game we'll be posting in a separate post! If you already own the game on itch.io or want to purchase it, use the link below to get the latest version!
Enjoy!

Quite a few bugs with this release (Tested with Rift S):
- Audio is routed to the Windows audio device rather than the VR device.
- Menu item selection is not triggered by actually pulling the controller trigger, but by capacitive touch contact with the trigger (normally used only for hand post estimation)
- 'grab' regions for objects are bugged out, hands must be waved through them quite a bit before they will stay highlighted and can be successfully picked up
- If an item is held, moving the stick of the hand it is held in will show the teleport selection UI element, but slicking the stick will do nothing
- Objects will often become 'stuck' to a hand until you can find another object to grab, at which point the stuck object will pop out
- The microphone will only operate when grabbed by the right hand, but the 'control' will only work when operated by the left thumbstick, but ONLY after you swap hands. Grab with right hand, then grab with left hand, then grab with right hand again, THEN menu options can be selected. Grabbing with either hand along will result in the menu item being highlighted but slicking the stick doing nothing. As an aside, stick-clicking interfaces suck to use.
- Pushing any physics buttons (activate/reset/info/soda-machine) is highly unreliable. The button will move, often well beyond the travel limit (e.g. the soda-machine button can be pressed right back into the machine by at least an arms length) without activating. You need to get the hand pose at a certain angle before moving the button will actually cause its effect to activate.
- The 'A-button menu' will spawn in a fixed location in the world, rather than relative to the current location
- The teleport 'direction' will be in in a random orientation with every activation. If you wa to travel in a straight line, you cannot just point forward and click the stick, instead you need to re-orient EVERY time. Very annoying just to move across a room without getting spun about!
- Some scenes (accessed by the scene selection) have the 'teleport' surface nowhere near the actual geometry surface. e.g. the tower scene has it well below the ground, and makes it impossible to teleport back to the 'origin' point. As the origin is where the menu spawns, you need to try and get close and then operate the menu 'from behind' to leave!
