July Blog Post | Allowing OCs in Polls (Sometimes) and Temporary Suspension of Super Nightmare
I can foresee myself being slightly more busy starting in August, and due to various other circumstances, I am temporarily suspending the Super Nightmare tier ($30). This is mainly an attempt to catch up with other works, and when things stabilize, I may re-implement it. I am not sure of an elegant way to disable it, so I'll wait until the very end of the month to remove it. I would suggest grabbing any source files you want before I remove it, unless you downgrade to a cheaper (paid) tier, in which case you'll still have access to them.
Also like before, any drawing that went over the month limit will have the source file posted publicly.
Poll 2 Adjustment (OCs) Trial Run
Based on the subscriber query, next month I plan on allowing OCs for the subscriber-only poll. If it works out, I'll allow OC sequence requests on a fixed schedule, something like every 3 months. I was thinking about every other month, but I actually received some "No" votes, so I decided to make the frequency lower. These follow the same restrictions as a normal sequence request, so the description should be kept light, and I will probably ask you further questions if needed. However, I am going to make some adjustments to the allowed subjects for that kind of sequence, which restricts the subjects to "SFW" only. The previous poll sequences (that won) have fallen under this restriction so far, so this will probably not be much of a visible change.
I will provide more information in the next start of the month post, but any tier that can put in suggestions (Super Normal+ ($5+)) can request an OC for one of the options. If I receive more than 4 requests, the OC poll will go through 2 rounds of voting, one with multiple choice and one with the top 4 in single choice only mode. Both polls will not have weighted tier voting enabled. I probably shouldn't have to say this, but if you don't own that OC, I will need permission from the owner.
SubscribeStar General
Based on the earlier Subscriber Query, the usual (normal) 2nd sequence poll will now be fixed at 4 slots going forward. Also the poll for the options of next month's first poll went well enough, so I will do that more often now.
In other news, for some reason, the goals list doesn't update properly, or at least it doesn't update like it is to be expected. It seems to stay locked at the highest I've gotten in a single month, which isn't very useful. Anyway, I will also hit the $150+ total threshold next month, so I'll spend a chunk of it on better RAM (16GB -> 32GB). Afterward, the next goal would probably be a new Graphics Card.
Power
At about July 8th, I lost power due to hurricane Beryl. I only managed to use my UPS for the first time a grand total of ~20 or so minutes before the power went out completely (it was a nice 20 minutes). Power was restored on the 13th, but the breaker box practically fried itself in the process, so we had to get an electrician to look at it on the 14th (the house is very old so the wiring is not up to code anymore). In summary, we need to replace the box section at some point, but we have it fixed and functional for now.
I spent most of my time on my laptop that I rarely use, and ended up buying a subscription to CSP so I could continue drawing. The perpetual license only works on a singular computer, and while I can transfer computers, it has a limit (I am unsure of the limit). I thought about using my drawing tablet, but in the end, I just used my mouse like I usually do. Despite everything, I continued to draw with my right hand (I am left handed). It was a little awkward drawing in that position, and sometimes the generator needed to cool down, but it prevented me from being completely bored.
I eventually got full power around the 19th, after a few days of having partial power around the 16th.
This wasn't the first time I've been without power for about a week+, so it wasn't anything new, but this was the first time we had a generator for it (that we actually owned), so it was better than usual. The last time I lost power for a long time (week+) was Hurricane Ike in ~2008. I spent most of that time playing [The World Ends With You] on the DS rented from Blockbuster. That Blockbuster never opened again after the hurricane.
Health
👍 I managed to wake up on time and saturated myself with fluids by consuming them with my mouth before my infusion. It was one of the easiest IVs I've ever had. 👍
Other - Poal Poll Query Results
Honestly, I am a little impressed that the poll managed to avoid getting spammed or have bad messages added. Good job. I'd like to make some comments on some options from the poal poll results. Subjects marked with !'s are options that were added after the initial poll.
NSFW Subjects [Winner]
You really want me to draw more explicit subjects, don't you? In all honesty, I get pretty nervous when posting full on NSFW images, if you can believe that.
Plush vs Inflatable
It appears that the matchup of Plush vs Inflatable is something like 60 v 40. Previous Poll results (I've listed them in the Trello) appear to reflect this, too. Truly, Plush is the strongest inanimate TF option. At the time of writing they reached equilibrium, but plush usually starts out ahead. In terms of personal preference, I think I prefer inflatables, probably due to deflation. I like plushies with zippers quite a bit.
Post TF
I like post TF, so I am glad it's that high.
Figurine TF
With suit winning the other poll, I expected this to be lower. Although, the only time I've drawn a figurine TF, it ended up being my most popular work on Pixiv, so maybe there is a demand. I like these quite a bit, but I struggle with pose ideas and they start to feel too repetitive, so I don't do it very often.
Oviposition
A little surprising it's this high, but I've gotten several requests for it at this point, so maybe I shouldn't be that surprised.
TF with no TG
I didn't expect this to get that high. I like MtF quite a bit, so if the opportunity arises, I'll usually do that. Sometimes I like to keep it ambiguous on purpose, so you can pretend either way. The Shirano TF was kind of like that.
Cardboard Cutout TF
I do like this subject, but I tend to struggle thinking about how to do it in a way I like most of the time, kind of like Figurine TFs. I like it when they have a "3D" element to them like the breasts popping out.
!Nullification
Sometimes I edit previous works I've made, and one of the more common edits is modifying the face. Removal of some/all facial features is one of the usual ones I do. I don't normally post edits anymore because it feels a bit cumbersome, and some (most) are just extremely quick edits to a specific frame, but the amount of nullification votes was a bit surprising.
Maybe in the future I'll start posting other edits, but they would be highly irregular. They don't usually have an order to them and are a result of my hand moving on its own, so sometimes they don't make any sense. If I do post these edits, I'd probably post it through a source file on the Super Easy+ tier (because otherwise it would be a long post of a ton of edits) and clean them up a bit.
!Species Swap TF
I don't mind this at all, but I don't really have any opportunities to draw this. It doesn't help the 2 OCs I named (and drew) are the same species.
!Inflation
Despite being into inflatables, I vastly prefer deflation and don't normally care for inflation. I wouldn't mind drawing it, though.
!Vore TF
Like a lot of things, I'm more interested in it if it's paired with TF, and vore is no exception. It's probably very unlikely I'll draw this unprompted, though. I also don't really care for hard vore even if it has TF, so I would avoid that if possible.
FtM TF
I am not at all surprised it's that low. I don't mind it, but I'm not really into masculinity for this kind of thing, so the opportunity to draw it would be low. Actually, one of the poll options I do have planned I wanted to make FtM, but it has to win at some point before I get to that. (No, I won't mention which one it is.)
!Hoop TF
It's pretty OK.
Thank you for the support.
If you plan to continue it in the future, wouldn't it be possible to just suspend the Tier so we can keep it in the meantime instead of deleting it all together?
I say this because these limited commission-like slot tiers can be very "competitive" and fill up in minutes, really no guarantees to get them again.
But I understand, definitely don't overwhelm yourself!
I could "reserve" the slot for you if you'd like.
That would be very nice, I do have been loving these OC pics I been getting 🤍
But only if you don't mind of course!
OK, I'll let you know when I re-open it.
