Huzzah, I managed to hold off for three days without posting again. I think it just puts an email in your inbox that says I posted, without bothering to include any of the contents... which is extremely annoying and also means posting frequently is just spam.
Included here are two more pages of inks for the elf comic, a video of how I did it, and a video of Meg in Whisperlem. The video of Meg is an important test: you probably know I've been struggling to get Whisperlem's cartoon characters to feel at home in the fairly realistic settings I can easily create. Well, here's a test, let me know. The assets are still rough, but I hope the visual gels.
It is also once again time to take requests, if folks have one. If not, I'll draw Venne.

Oh and yeah, I suppose the soft lighting might help there, since it would also reinforce the "flat surfaces" feel. So, how would this scene look with harsher lighting, and how do outside scenes look with soft lighting? Maybe there's something there 🤔
One last thing that just occurred to me. The concept of illusion/impression of detail might play a part here too. If in the outside scenes the brain adds expected detail to the environment but not the model that effect would emphasize the disparity between the realistic and the more cartoony. In this indoor scene the same probably wouldn't happen because everything is so sharp and clear.
Hmmmm. There's also the small fact that in outdoor scenes, the only time you'll have a sun is in the very first hour of the day. The rest are all nighttime.
Since you are maybe not focusing on Floating Flowers right now, can I request something with Beau having "alone time" ?
I can sure do that. Is that what you want as your sketch?
Yes, please!
Regarding the Whisperlem test, I think the important thing about my first blush reaction was that I didn't come out of the vid having had a single thought about her clashing with the visuals, and was more focused on what she was messing with. So at the very least, it can be assumed that the character models and the environment are starting to mesh well. If you're requesting requests, I wouldn't mind seeing Tia again, maybe in some kind of carriage harness, seeing as she often works as the team draft horse XD
Oo, fun idea. XD And good to hear
