Ecchi Sensei - Month 1 - Status Report No. 1:

Dear connoisseurs of erotic entertainment!

Today we recommence the weekly sharing of information regarding the status of Ecchi Sensei - Month 1!
For you, it means you get to learn what we are currently working on and how we're doing in terms of the current schedule.
But first things first: This report will be a bit more comprehensive than the following ones. Therefore you should ideally lean back and relax and enjoy reading the report. *Nya*
After Week 1, Month 1 is the second big merge of Ecchi Sensei's game content and again we use the opportunity to take the time to create a sustainable and stable basis for the game. For instance, Week 1 did not have a German version, and we are currently working on implementing that. On top of that, we are working on optimizing existing features as well as creating a few new ones, of which I'm not going to introduce all of them right away.

Let's begin with the optimizations:

Gallery/Scene Gallery:
It was somewhat annoying that these two features were basically only useful for Week 1 and we were not able to continue to expand them because our save mechanism wasn't fully fledged out yet.
For that reason, the gallery is a high priority item for us, and thus we improved it so that it will always be up to date with the latest script optimizations and the save mechanism.
Unfortunately there are also bad news, because we also decided to decommission the scene gallery until further notice. The reason for that is that the scene gallery has too many dependencies that we keep updating frequently. So, every time we change the script, we would have to put in more work for the scene gallery, and that would be a redundant use of valuable time that we prefer to invest into more important things. But don't worry. The scene gallery will return eventually.

Ecchi Calendar:
Speaking of time investments... Currently it takes an absurdly big amount of time to add, delete, or modify anything in the Ecchi Calendar. Therefore I tasked my code monkeys to reprogram the future to be a lot more intuitive and easier to maintain. The goal is to make adding new calendar entries no more than two minutes (currently every entry takes 10-15 minutes).
For you, it means: With Month 1, the Ecchi Calendar will be a more useful tool that gives you important information on upcoming events.

Ecchi Character Info:
I can still remember how happy I was about this feature when we were working on Week 1, as the feature seemed to be not just informative but also well-designed. Well, both things are still true, but what we failed to take into account were the complications with our save mechanism that was still in its infancy at the time.
It was not possible to migrate the character infos from Week 1 into the next chapters. We are changing that at the moment. That means that, with Month 1 and future updates, the character infos will always be migrated with your save files and thus we can guarantee that the information will always be up to date. Even if you don't have a save file and you just press Play in a new update, all variables will be calculated and you see all the entries in the char info.

Smartphone:
Ah, the smartphone... Our first grand feature... I'm getting all nostalgic and I feel a strong urge to vomit. All the time and tears we put into this godforsa... great feature...
Well, to get to the point: After almost two years, the smartphone is error-free and does what it's supposed to do. However, my initial vision of that feature was a lot more ambitious.
I did all I could to design the smartphone the way I initially envisioned it.
The result is not only a visual improvement, but it also comes with new features!
I present to you the revolutionary EcchiPhone 3.0:

The EcchiPhone 3.0 comes with a bigger display for chat messages because we removed the text box. Also, it is possible to use the Ctrl key to skip text. The spacebar also works to skip individual messages.
Also, we added a "home screen" with six interactive symbols.
Twitter, Patreon, and Discord will link you to the corresponding websites.
The three symbols above them: Camera, messenger, FireCat

Camera:
If this button is clicked, a new window opens in the EcchiPhone to show you the photo gallery, consisting of pictures you received from others.
Every time you receive a new image, it gets saved to the gallery. (Don't worry, only you have got access to the images. Neither your wife nor anyone else can see them because our smart MC uses a password to protect his phone)

Messenger:
The messenger remained mostly the same visually. If you click on it, your contact list (which is now sorted alphabetically and no longer shows duplicate names) opens and you can click on all the contacts in that list to read through previous conversations.

FireCat:
FireCat is an innovative browser with limitless possibilities. It gives you access to the "World Wide Weeb" and you can use "Froogle". However, that bit about limitless possibilities was a blatant lie because you're currently only able to click on "Search".
BUT! If you do that, the site of a randomly selected other game developer opens. I don't want to say too much already, but there's one thing I can tell you:
If you've ever played a game with cross-promotion, this feature is the next level! Fuck yeah, we're so innovative!

Save mechanism and other bits and pieces:
I could spend hours telling you all about the behind-the-scenes work we do - things you barely ever notice as they don't have visible consequences in the game itself. Rather, it's annoying work that makes the game run smoothly in spite of its ginormous size - and I could tell you all about how we're breaking the laws of the Ren'Py engine, but I'll get to the point and say this much:
We're optimizing a fuckton of data to keep making Ecchi Sensei as playable as ever.

Let's continue with "new" expansions:
One "new" thing is going to be the "Ecchi Statistics".
As I mentioned it in several earlier posts, we've had another newcomer in the team. A new code monkey has been hired and he got tasked immediately with the Ecchi Statistics (and a big pile of other feature).
Most of you are probably critical of the Ecchi Statistics because many of you probably aren't very interested in statsitics. But I'm motivated to make things that weren't as appealing, or you thought weren't as appealing, more attractive to you players of Ecchi Sensei.
The Ecchi Statistics don't just give fans of statistics lots of information on Ecchi Sensei and all characters, it is also an interesting tool for those of you with no interest in statistics.
I put a lot of time into the concept, the design, and the available information to make it as userfriendly and informative as possible. That's why I hope to hear some feedback from you on the feature when the Month 1 release happens.

Next up: The interactive map:
One goal of Month 1 is to make the map symbol on the toolbar usable and present you an early version of the map. You won't be able to do as much on it right away, but it's a big step towards having "character routes" for the upcoming new feature of a temporary sandbox mode in which you can use the evening on weekdays to decide what to do before going to bed.
What you do with this free time is up to you. More info on that will come in the upcoming months.
Okay, that should be sufficient for now. Next week you'll hear more on what other things we're working on.

Stay healthy, and as always...

So long,
Blue

# Deutsch:

Blue
