June's Illustration sets!

June is the rainy season in Japan! It's also the first month into the season of ayu sweetfish. Apparently Ayu has been consumed in prefectures without coastlines for such a long time that I remember there being folklore with Ayu mentioned.

Ayu grilled with salt is actually my favorite dish during Summer as the fish has a gentle flavor and a mellow aroma. If you have the chance, I'd really recommend giving Ayu a chance. It's a more minor part of the Japanese culture that not many are aware of.
