the barbies certainly never expected mattel to go beyond her normal mold to make the toys; they'd all always looked the same with tiny waists, wide hips, moderate boobs, and long thin legs - that was just the barbie brand! thats what barbie was!
of course though, with the changing times, mattel wanted to show that barbie was still just like every other woman, and thus decided to expand the line to plus sized barbies! Chubby Barbie, Fatty Barbie, Obese Barbie - and not just as normal human barbies! But Fairy barbies and mermaid plus sized barbies too! Any barbie can be a plus sized barbie if mattel deems it so!
