“That would be ridiculous,” protested Xinjinmeng. “They would know your address, all the evidence clearly points to you.”
“Of course it’s ridiculous,” replied Leanne. “That’s what makes it exciting.”
“It’s – oops, excuse me.” Xin had dropped her phone again; she was having trouble keeping her face in frame. “It’s exciting to make no sense?
“Yes. Like those movies with the pool boy and the rich housewife.”
Xin frowned. “That’s different.”
Leanne smirked. “How is that different?”
“That’s something you could get away with. The power dynamic, using authority to coerce others. It’s not a crime.”
“What libertine utopia do you live in, where that would not be a crime?”
“Well, it’s not a blatant crime.”
“But it is a crime, and that’s what makes it exciting. The transgression, the display of power.”
“That’s not very romantic.”
Leanne snorted, and her tablet bounced from where she had it perched upon her stomach. “Romance is over-rated. You make your own pleasure. You make others please you.”
“Now that’s something that makes sense.”
