Honestly I like both but hard shadow seems to work a tad better with your style if I had to choose one. Excellent work as always aka!
I agree that the hard shadow matches your style better, but the soft shading allows for more easily illustrating details in the skin without being overwhelming. I think this post has a good balance of the two.
