Now Available - Patch 1.32.1 for Bizarre Battles

At long last... get it here (24Mb compressed .rar file):
https://www.mediafire.com/file/qovzkqnyvmrolnn/Bizarre_Battles_v1.32.1_patch.rar/file

As usual, the patch consists of only updated .exe files.  After decompressing, place the four .exe files in your main Bizarre Battles 1.32 folder.  You may then delete the similarly-named older .exe files.  No other game files are affected and any existing data will remain as before.

As usual, this patch will remain exclusive to paying members for 30 days.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

[1]  BUG FIXES
This patch fixes (I hope) several really annoying bugs:
- Set loading errors when starting a battle
- Computational errors regarding army strengths, particularly at campaign start
- Failure to save and re-use team equipment from battle-to-battle.

[2]  TEAM BUILDER MODULE UPGRADES
Many of you use Teams, and no doubt have been frustrated by the fact that essential information and selection options are spread out all over the place.  Hopefully these new management features will be of help:
Image 1

- All Team loading buttons (1 to 10) now show persistent visual cues reflecting whether the Team has been selected for battle/campaign participation (green number), has Team clothing selected (maroon dot on left side of number), and has Team weapons selected (gray dot on right side of number).  [A at Image 1.]  These data points correspond to the Team usage boxes on the Battle Builder module.

- Scrolling over any Team button will show colored dots for all combatant sets (1 to 40) that contain any Team members, and for what side.  For example, the Image 1 scroll-over shows that Team 1 contains friendly team members in sets 37 and 38, and enemy team members in sets 38 and 39.  [B at Image 1.]

- Scrolling over any Team button also brings up the big dialogue box with further Team details [C/D/E at Image 1].  C provides details on how many combatants (friendly and enemy) are in that team, and whether the set(s) containing those combatants are loaded.  D shows the Team name, and any player notes for that Team.  These can be changed by pressing hotkeys 1 and 2, respectively.  E shows whether the Team has been selected for participation, whether team clothing will be used, and whether team weapons will be used.  These can be changed by pressing hotkeys 3, 4, and 5, respectively, and correspond to both the persistent visual cues detailed above, and the associated boxes in the Battle Builder module.

- Team Builder now contains the team usage buttons that are already found in the Battle Builder and Command & Control modules.  [F at Image 2.]  IMPORTANT:  These buttons, and most options concerning Team assignment generally, are active only at the start of a campaign, before any battles have been fought; i.e., once a campaign has started, team composition, equipment, and usage are frozen.

- Whereas scrolling over a Team button (1 to 10) provides details as to that specific team, scrolling over new button G provides summary combatant strength information for all ten teams as a whole, and visual cues as to where these combatants can be found among the 40 combatant sets.  [Image 2 at G.]  In this example, Teams 1 thru 10 in the aggregate contain 74 friendly combatants, of whom 24 are in loaded sets (visually represented by the blue dots for sets 37 and 38).  Likewise, Teams 1 thru 10 contain 199 enemy combatants, who are spread out over numerous sets (1-12, 38, 39).

- IMPORTANT CHANGE:  Team Builder now is split into two new modes; Team Assignment and Combatant Inspection [Image 2 at H].  Switch between these modes with the Space Bar.  The Team Assignment mode handles all pre-campaign team set-up functions, including assignment of combatants to teams (LMB/RMB as before), and assignment of team clothing and equipment (hotkey Q as before).  The Combatant Inspection mode is largely intended to allow detailed review of combatants (including history, wounds, etc.) once a campaign has started, but is also the place for pre-campaign additions of custom combatants (hotkey E as before).  The purpose of this change is to minimize frequent confusion, in that Team Builder has many overlapping functions (interrogation, prisoner exchange, uniform designer, and other combatant selection utilities, all in addition to above).

- Updated summary of key commands (Dossier area, K at Image 2), and updated Hotkey list (M at Image 3).  Further command summary information also appears in place of the combatant set list (1 to 40) as appropriate.

- Scrolling over the button for a combatant set now provides details about the set, and allows the set to be loaded or unloaded (hotkey 6) [L at Image 3].  Loading changes made from this screen have the same effect as the checkbox list in the Introductory Page module.

- The prisoner exchange feature now allows the full image of a woman of interest to be shown (instead of just the dossier information as now).  Right click on the woman's counter to bring up this information (locking the woman with a magnifying glass), the same as you would with a normal inspection.

That's All For Now

My deepest and continuing thanks to all you long-suffering Bizarre Battles players, who have had to wait an excessively long time for this patch.  I hope that these handy new features will in some fashion make up for the delay.

I'm going to jump right into patch 1.32.2 to tidy up a few more issues, and then will turn my attention to the next round of real improvements, starting with the master checklist for battle and campaign design.

If there are issues with this patch, or other problems that really annoy you, now would be a good time to let me know.
