The challenge is officially done for me. It was nice and cool to participate in. I'm ready to take a quick break but I'll likely start messing with stuff again as early as day after tomorrow maybe tomorrow IDK.

Another day down. Tried to be a bit ambitious with this one. Personally, I'm on the disappointed side but I'm not stressing. It's a challenge and I tried some stuff I don't often excel at doing fast. I'll learn and move on.

So, I was trying to go for more of a story in this one and had some ambition here. I fell short but I think what I had in mind was possible but I just ran into some issues and didn't have as much time in the day due to actual work and IRL stuff. Still a decent amount of time but not as much as day 1.

It's been a while since I've animated motion that wasn't sex and it's different. I think I need to work some more on it. I often find that I like animating in general but the parts before the sex are just a tad less exciting (truly just a tad). What this means is I feel less likely to spend time on it versus the actual sex, so often when I go the animation I got back and correct it, and then again, and then again, and I eventually stop. The main sex is like this as well but I have more of a drive to make that part better. This isn't a big deal just wanted to share.

Other

Lighting was done super quick since I was pressed for time and just wanted to finish. Really everything was sort of half done just because of time but it's a little event so it's no big deal. I think Chloe's movement on the closeup looks a little off but didn't have time to correct it. I really want to go back to softbody physics soon. I just think it's really useful at time rather than just moving bones.

Done with day 1. Decided to use 3 models for some reason 😅. I got an idea for day 2 including a glory hole. and some characters I've used before. I'm very happy how day one came out. I will have a fem version as well when I get the time to render after this challenge. For now everyone has access to the same file, just check vid below.

VISUALS AND LIGHTING

This went quite well. I had a good amount of time to do it. About anywhere from 8-12 hours I would guess it took. I kind of tried something new with lighting using 3 different spotlights for the main lighting. Along with the usual rim and fill lighting (these are just terms for 3 point lighting you can google if you care). I used particles which I didn't expect to look the way they did when rendering (If it wasn't a day challenge, I would re-render it and adjust but it's not too big a deal. I added a fog cloud at the bottom half in post processing after the render. The background is an image of gotham city I placed as an image.

ANIMATION

I had to animate 3 people so I had no time to dilly dally with anything new. So I did my main movements as usually did. I'm pretty proud that I managed to quickly do batgirl's thrusts since it's a bit uneven in pacing which I don't normally do. WW's movements were heavily helped by added physics with spring bones addon. I originally planned to only animate batgirl and WW but when I got started I quickly thought to add one more person. You'd be surprised how easy it is (atleast to me) to do a threesome vs a twosome. It doesn't really feel any harder because both movements are sort of indepedent. For example, I did Batgirl's movements and then WW reacting to them and without even caring about Supergirl yet, I added her movements and then just adjusted WW without any issues. The threesome obviously takes more time than just two still. I could say more but I got to get back to the other animations!

I'd like to add some general discussion since I'm making such a simple post. Just talking a bit about plans and how I feel about animation, what I'm working on etc.

The Chun li animation right now is sort of stuck in limbo. I may revisit it soon or I may not. This is kind of why I don't like doing something and then stopping for a while, I can lose motivation and the bigger issue is that I am constantly learning so when I revisit something I often want to change it or think that the older work may then be inferior.

Here's something I really want to talk about. My previous works had longer animations and maybe some "story" behind them. I haven't lost the ambition for slightly longer stuff, it's that when learning it can be much easier to just do smaller stuff for testing. I realize however that I'll always be learning so I'll need to eventually just start back up at some point. What I may do soon-ish is to start doing some basic before sex and during sex scenes. I like adding some basic 'story' or reasoning to how the characters got into the situation. I think it's a nice addition at times.

Last notes: I'm going to experiment going back to Cycles. A friend convinced me to give it a try again with some new settings. A new version of Blender is coming that will have something called "Eevee Next" which is also going to be an enhanced version of Eevee the quicker engine. So it's gonna be win-win coming up in the future with a better version of Eevee as well that looks quite interesting. It's in beta version so I have already tried it and it looks promising.
