We're making good progress on version 0.17 and things are coming together. Escape Artist will be starting on all of the animation loops tomorrow. At this point it looks like she'll be wrapping up on the 29th which ups our likely release window to the first few days of July. Also this month we started working on a better way to estimate how many hours it takes to make specific art assets. We're recording times and breaking pictures down into groups like how many characters they have in them, character size in the frame, level of detail, and the number of pose and face changes. It'll probably take us a few months to iron it all out but our estimates should get more accurate each time.
After taking inventory of what we have left to do we're aiming to have the last of the artwork for version 0.17 wrapped up by 6/26. Afterward it'll take me about 3 days to add everything and animate the faces. That puts us on pace for release target of Saturday the 29th. Given the complexity of the art and number of animations there's a good chance we'll hit snags. The estimate has a few days of buffer room to account for that but as we approach the target I'll update the timeline if needed.
We increased the scope on this h-scene compared to our previous ones and changed up our process a bit. so there are still some unknowns. So far it's looking pretty good.
