Greetings, fellow players. I go by the alias Director Unknown. Why? Because I don't want the police to knock on my door for creating such content💀.
Currently, I'm working on a project named Darker. It's an adult visual novel that explores the forbidden depths of adult entertainment, strictly made for a mature 18+ audience.
At the heart of Darker lies a story that revolves around the idea of how a simple taunt can reopen someone's deepest wounds, pushing them to the brink and beyond. It's a cautionary tale that reminds us that our actions have consequences, and that we never truly know what demons others are facing.
Through Darker, we explore the complex and often disturbing nature of human relationships and emotions, touching on themes of POWER, CONTROL, and REVENGE with a small twist in the end.
Currently, the game offers:
Over 1,700 high-quality renders at a resolution of 2.5k.
A few animations, meticulously detailed despite a lower frame rate.
A comprehensive audio experience with sound effects, music, and ambience.

Looking back at how things have gone, it is safe to say that the game will have bi-monthly updates. That means you can expect an update for the game every two months. The stretch might go a tad longer, up to a maximum of 2.5 months, but that's the upper limit.
If there's any switch-up in plans down the road, patrons will be informed through dev logs that I regularly upload.
While I've kept Darker free for everyone, developing the game comes with costs. As an indie developer, covering everything from my own pocket isn't easy. That's why I need funding to sustain the development.

The new update was supposed to be released yesterday, but I got busy with some important stuff. Nonetheless, Chapter 1: Part 5 is now completely finished and ready to be released. Let's get on with the details.
For those not interested in reading paragraphs, here are the final release dates for all membership tiers:
Immoral Tier: June 16th
Corrupt Tier: June 23rd
Darkest Tier: June 27th
Darker Tier: June 30th
Dark Tier: July 2nd
Public Release: July 5th
Each tier will receive updates according to the mentioned dates, and after that, Part 5 will be completely free for everyone to enjoy.
Now, for all the lovely people who care, before getting into the changelog, I need to get something off my chest. As I mentioned in the progress report, developing Darker any further is practically impossible for me at this point.
The story requires more characters in a single frame, but my laptop doesn't have enough VRAM to include a third character unless I significantly downgrade the quality, which I won't. For this reason, I've decided to invest a significant amount into upgrading my hardware. My initial plan was to make the upgrades at the end of this year when I had enough money collected from the update releases. However, development has become too difficult to proceed, and I don't want to keep stalling with short filler updates.
Additionally, in the place where I live, tech prices are substantially higher than in the USA, so building a PC actually cost me nearly $1,500 to $2,000 more than it would have in the US. Even though I don't have many paid members, I took the risk.
Now that you know the situation of your favorite dev, I need all the support I can get to recover some of the investment. I'll be honest, the update is short and doesn't justify the cost at all, even though I worked probably harder than any other dev with a 1,000-render update. Part 5 has 300 renders, and that is all I could manage. For just this once, if possible, I want you guys to join the Immoral or Corrupt tier to support the project. I'm planning on making Part 6 a substantially bigger update, and if I see good financial results from Part 5, I'll consider reducing the time gap between each tier.
I hope you guys will help me keep the project alive ❤️. I've put my heart into it, and I don't want to abandon it at any cost.
