Update #50. v0.2.5 Beta Now Available for Tiers 3 and 4
Hey people!
As promised, the v0.2.5 update is now available. This new scene takes place right after the literature class... and let's just say things get pretty intense.
For now, some story branches are still disabled, and the focus is on interacting with the new character. Later on, I'll be adding alternative paths, including the option to stay out of it or simply walk away without talking to the new Love Interest. The goal is to gradually expand player choice without turning the system into an unmanageable mess (or burning myself out in the process π).
As I mentioned before, I had to split this scene into two parts because it was getting too large. The upside is that the next update should come faster, since there will be fewer characters involved and development will be more manageable.
Additionally, for those who didn't play version v0.2.4.2, I've just uploaded it to Itch.io, so you can play it for free.Β

Update #49. Development Status: v0.2.5 Almost Ready
Hi people!
I just wanted to drop by with a quick development update.Β
The next version, v0.2.5, is almost ready, so if everything goes as planned I should be able to release it next week or the week after. In other words, sometime between mid and late March. Not much longer to wait before you can play it! π
This update includes a lot of background characters, as well as several interacting with each other. You'll see what I mean when you play it. Because of this, I've had to put in many extra hours, since quite a few scenes have a lot more movement and activity in the environment.
I also wanted to remind you of something important: this update ended up being so long that I had to split it into two parts. This means that the conversation/scene with the love interest you're talking to will continue in the next update.
The good news is that the following update should take less time to develop, since it will have far fewer characters on screenβ¦ although you already know how game development works: you never know what unexpected issues might come up. π

Update #48. v0.2.4.2 Available for Tier 1!
Hello people!
It's time to release v0.2.4.1 for Tier 1! The version I'm publishing is v0.2.4.2, as I found a few issues that needed to be fixed. One of them was reported by a subscriber: the game would break in the new scene if you went to the cafeteria through the main hall instead of passing through the gym.
This happened because the game checks the current in-game time to determine whether certain events should trigger, (for example, if you arrive late to a date with one of the girls). In this case, however, I pushed the time limit too far, and if you took the other route, it wouldn't run.
The other issue was related to the UI when exiting the infirmary. A temporary test interface had been left in by mistake, and I forgot to change it. My apologies! π

Update #47. 2 Bundles and 0.2.5 Development
Hi people!
Regarding update 0.2.5, development is progressing steadily. I don't have any major news to share just yet, but work is moving forward. It's taking a bit longer than expected because there are many characters involved in this scene, which significantly increases production time.
Additionally, the girl featured in this new scene has been giving me some technical issues with her clothing and hair. I've found a solution that isn't perfect, but it's functional enough for now, so I'm working with that in order to complete the scene.
As mentioned in the title and shown in the post image, Heartstrings is currently featured in two bundles:
The Valentine's bundle has only 10 days left, so if you'd like to check it out, don't wait too long. While there are some overlapping games between the two bundles, together they offer a huge amount of content. I hope you enjoy them and discover some interesting new projects.
On my end, I wish to return soon with the news that the new update is close to completion (I don't think so, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed π π€). I will likely also use the next announcement to release version 0.2.4.1 for Tier 1+ supporters.

Update #46. An Update That Grew Too Big
Hello people!
I'm still working on the next update, v0.2.5, which takes place after the literature class.
The issue is that it ended up being much longer than I originally expected, so I'll have to split it into two parts. Without going into spoilers, the initial idea was to introduce a few characters in the hallway, have some things happen (you'll see π), and then go with one of them to their club, where the conversation would continue.
However, the entire introduction scene in the hallway and the subsequent conversation with that character have already given me enough material for a full and fairly long scene, so the club portion will have to wait for the next update.
I also want to mention that, for now, the option to skip this entire conversation with these characters will be locked. I'll add it later, but if I included it now, the update would be too short if you chose that option, and it would also delay development even further. So if you're not interested in talking to this character or going to their club, don't worry: for now it will be mandatory, but it won't be in the future.
On another note, a Patreon supporter found a bug in the latest update (thank you so much for the help!). If you go to the cafeteria through the hallways instead of passing through the gym, the scene doesn't trigger correctly and the game gets stuck. I'll release a fixed version alongside v0.2.4.1 for Tier 1 supporters.

Update #45. v0.2.4.1 Available for Tier 2

Just a quick update to let you know that Tier 2 users now have access to version v0.2.4.1.
Yes, it's version v0.2.4.1 and not v0.2.4 because a couple of players found a bug that prevented the game from continuing on the third day in the gym scene. There are also some corrections to the texts that I was told were wrong.
