You know what's better than being friends? Being Friends with Benefits! Get access to any free games and novelettes a month ahead of the public release, and get a free key to any paid games and novelettes that I release while you're a subscriber.
Aww! You wanna be BFFs? BFsF? In addition to all the other stuff, you'll also receive a special thanks credit in any games that were under development while you were a BFF for any length of time.
I've been all over the place, these past few months. I've done most of the werewolf graphic novelette - really should finish that for you, sorry! - as well as started on another called Thrown to the Lions which will come after that. But one thing I haven't been revisiting is Djinni's Desire. I'm sure I'll get inspired for it again, but I'm just not feeling the naughty family fun times, right now, I guess. Instead, I've been working on a new project, inspired by an utterly ludicrous name: Black Dick enslaved my boyfriend! or: how I became a space pirate! Or just Black Dick: Space Pirate for short. It's inspired by a really old Apple IIe game called Taipan, in which you traded goods and fought pirates. I want to make the combat a bit more interesting (I'm thinking maybe a sort of deckbuilder, with your deck based on the upgrades you've made to your ship and crew), and also have substantial story-based quests at the different trading locations, which is where the sexy stuff will happen. I've been having fun with the ridiculous retro scifi spoof vibes, like making Black Dick's ship shamelessly in the shape of a big black dick, balls and all.
The Interactive Comic Book Maker now has fancy text effects and I'm abusing the heck out of them! (That scream is waving and the growl is shaking)
Also pictured: wolf vision!
Sorry these WIP renders are so grainy. Each render on this project is taking 12 hours+, so I'm working with quick grainy renders until I'm sure everything's where I want it.
I'm having so much fun with the werewolves and I haven't even got to the transformation, yet! The idea of going from monster of the week to monster of the month to make more time for Djinni's Desire has totally backfired, as I'm putting SO MUCH time into this, but I'm loving it, and it's going to be a proper little graphic novelette, which I'll release next month.
(This isn't the final render, but I've almost got everything in place for it, now. Just need to make a minor adjustment to Jethro's head angle in the back, and think about whether I want to change Snake into some cutoffs.
I've decided to make this month's Monster of the Month (Bunny Hunt!) as a visual novelette using ICBM (my Interactive Comic Book Maker), so I've been making some improvements to the system, including heading text (which I'll also use for onomatopoeias, like "Pow!" or whatever) and images over the background layer (my logo, here, is not part of the background.
I've also decided that I'm going to be posting occasional updates and selected early Monster of the Month renders as Public Posts, from now on. In the past, I was posting these to the Friends tier, but I've decided it doesn't make marketing sense to put them behind a $1 paywall, so from now on, the Friends tier is going to be a pure support tier (and your support is much appreciated!)
The Friends with Benefits tier will stay much the same, giving early access to all the monster of the month renders, as well as demo releases of my current game in development (Djinni's Desire). Finally, those on the BFFs tier will get a special 4K desktop background render of the Monster of the Month, and a special thanks credit in my current game in development (for anyone who was a BFF at any time during its development)
(Note, there's still a little bit of work to be done on the Bunny Hunt cover - Bunny's looking a bit wooden - I'm really happy with her parents looking worried in the background, though)
