MNL Progress Report #70


Hey there, nudies! Great progress this week! We're just about halfway through with our Amber animation readjustments, and we've already begun importing them into the game! The above .gif isn't an official cutscene or anything like that, just a test throwing Amber into a new environment with a new animation. We also adjusted the previous shader we were using on her, and now she's looking really great in-engine! Her skin has a bit more texture to it, but her face keeps that cartoony look! I really dig it!
Just a dozen or so animations left to redo. AT is really knocking it out of the park on these! I'll just share my favorite out of the current batch. Very bouncy~
 
While AT does that and Invertex checks over them and gets them in-engine, the rest of us have been working on creating some generic NPCs. We've come up with a lot of main, named characters that Amber will be building relationships with, but Culo Culo Town also needs more generic types to populate the place with. We've already got some great sketches from Sweez for some cute pedestrians.
 

And Bear has already quickly been turning them into models!
This one was pretty easy, being mostly built from Alison's model with some adjustments. Since Alison works at a law office, it would make sense to have some similarly-dressed coworkers and associates.
Once these animations are complete and imported, it's on to rebuilding our quest progression system and triggers! Things are certainly moving! Hope to have even more to show you next week!
