HELLO!
Many of you on my threads will know that I haven't been the most active this past week. Partly that was due to unforseen troubles in my personal life, but also because I was educating myself on a few tools that I'm going to use going forward.
I'm going to start having my stories illustrated! (Mostly using AI tools, since I don't have the practice to make art that I would be happy with, and I can't afford to hire an illustrator for every other chapter)
As these tools get more sophisticated, I plan to extend this out a bit, from animating special sections that I really enjoy (some upcoming fight sequences in Main Man for example), to generating and fine-tuning some background music. Those who read Main Man know that I like to link some songs in my works, and this is mostly an extention of that, with the benefit of not having to rely on other channels or stepping on copyright.
The only AI tool I do not plan to use is writing assistance, as writing is my passion, I want to maintain a clear voice in my work, and it seems kind of... weak to just outsource my own hobby to a machine completely.
(Plus, why would I try to keep trying to generate text when I could just write the damn thing the first time around the way that I want it?)
Granted, I might get carpal tunnel some day and might rethink this, but for now, this is my stance. I may use a more advanced AI in the future as an editor or something to bounce ideas off of in brainstorming, but that's about it. I still want to produce something myself and connect with my audience in a genuine way.
My main purpose is just to entertain people and give them the best that I can do. So, I'm expanding and finding new ways to flesh out my ideas for you all.
Here it is!
THIS POST CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS FOR FOR WANT OF A SIMP CHAPTER 7.
Below are the alternate illustrations for Chapter 7.
I hope you enjoy!
(Mostly, I couldn't wrestle with the AI to get what I wanted after several hours. Each one of these contains some elements in the actual scene, though the background, spacing, and positioning are wrong. The one in black and white, along with its colored variant, is most accurate in this regard, though far from the most intricate or pleasing. For these two I widened the aspect ratio to extend them. I polished all of them up after the fact, but keep in mind that I work on a phone, so resolution may not be the best. This will improve going forward.)
