Audio Updates - 05/26
I've had this in my drafts for about five days. It's ridiculous.
I had an opportunity a few weeks ago to try something out, to give a pretty straightforward POV and Bone Us script treatment to two sometimes collaborators I trusted to give them the sophistication and attention they deserved to see how it would turn out. Long story short, they were brilliant and (pending revisions from me for consistency and voice) will be the basis for POV 5 and Bone Us 6 now.
So the plan is to commission these two to pave the way for developing Bone Us and POV audios I've pitched, that way, I can focus on the main episodes and punch up what I'm given.
I really, really want to get to Episode 12 this year (our equivalent of season 1's finale).
Now, with that out of the way, here's the slate of what we're working on for audios; some of this has been recorded, most of this has been fully written, and others, at most, have a single draft. But a complete draft is a commitment in my book:
Comic Audio 2
Pretty straightforward adaptation of Issue 2 of the comic, featuring the return of Bordeaux Black and a new addition to our cast for Xarong. Soon--and I mean very soon, to be a motion comic after.
I upgraded my PC and it is scary fast at processes that used to take forever. This time around I'm having a much bigger hand in the animation process.
POV 4: A SIave's Service
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?
Seriously, you all are not ready for this POV. It's more than just a Slave Yuki audio; it's got a level of... interaction, let's say.
The script for POV 1 was six pages. This one is twelve.
Comic Audio 4: The Auction
Adapting Issue 4. Featuring the return of Baku Satsu as Kiza!
Comic Audio 5: Kyra
Featuring the return of KassioppiaVA in the seat as Kyra carrying her own audio. Appropriately before her solo audio debut...
POV 5: The Princess
The very first non-KittenVox led POV, and the debut of Sax as a co-writer on one of our audios. Who's taken a thin outline for how this audio should go, what Agaparan culture is like, and ran with it to write something beautiful.
Episode 8: "In the Cosmos Tonight"
I've realized up to this point, almost every male I've written is either dumb, brutish, cruel, sleazy, or in some other way an asshole. So I decided to challenge myself this time with a short, thrilling episode that pits Yuki up against a foe she can't shoot or fuck.
"This may be the best script you've ever written" - KittenVox
Bone Us 5: "The Careerist"
I don't wanna spoil this one too hard.
Let's just say it's our very first male voice-over audio, is a prequel about someone we've mentioned, and contains my favorite back and forth dialogue with Yuki so far.
Bone Us 6: "The Gladiator"
Ties in with Episode 9--which I'm in the process of writing and won't be including on this list. Just shows the wholesome and non-violent nor toxic first meeting between fighting sIave Xarong Kae and Nyda.
I'm usually a bit hesitant when it comes to announcements. I like to make what I feel like making at a given time without boxing myself in or allowing myself the freedom to pursue ideas that might grab me and make me deviate from my plans. All of the announced audios here are set, they're listed by completion level, may not come out in this specific order, but this is the slate. There'll be no Inhumans (2018) on this list.
For instance, all of these have been plotted out:
- Episode 10
- Episode 11
- Bone Us 7
- Kiza POV
- Nahve POV
- Soddorom Prequel Bone Us
- Sa'ahn POV
But if I think of something that grabs me first, it can jump the line, so I'm not formally announcing them (won't stop me from tickling you all with teasing their existence though). I'm in fairly deep enough into Episode 9 to say that the Nyda, Xarong, and Yuki storyline will be the basis for it. What form it takes is slightly in flux.
So, that's what we're working on! I swear we've never had this much prepared in advance, not ever in this whole production.
So stay tuned, keep supporting us on here!
Yours sadistically,
