Now then, Rem here posting some of my thoughts using the post release adrenaline. There were things I wanted to say two days ago on Monday if my hands weren't hurting now hell (they still hurt a bit now so I'm gonna type slowly and then go to bed.) This is going to be a directionless stream of consciousness long post of nonsense. So save this post to read while you're at work or in commute or something. Also, no Progress Report next week. I came from the future and I can tell you that I will be spending the week fixing bug and setting categories for Passives.

I have a lot of things that I wanted to say, and I want to say, so I'm just going randomly ramble on until my hands hurt too much.

First, thank you everyone for your support. It really means a lot to me and Sachinama. It's everyones joy and expectation that we pushed like hell to get this out today, and in time for it to be available to all supporters on Christmas Eve.

This release has honestly been, the most nerve wrecking release. And I don't mean in terms of wrist pain or crunch and whatever. For all our releases, from games on Steam to each alpha build release of Karryn's Prison, I've crunched the week before release and the week after release to provide immediate support and bug fixing.

But v7A is special. One, it's a release that has promise content cut out in form of the Glory Hole. Previously, we had to separate Level One side jobs from an update, but in that update also had Level Two Anarchy in it, so it's still a lot of new content regardless. In v7A's case, there's pretty much three main parts: 1. Level 3 Defeat and Vaginal Sex Skill 2. Masturbation 3. Passives Revamp. #2 and #3 are basically for fresh starts, and #3 ended up the biggest, meatest part of the update. So for supporters who just want to keep going on, there's very little content for them since v6.

Second, the Passives Revamp was nerve wracking to design. It's essentially throwing everything done so far out, and redoing it. From the flavor text of the Passives to the essential effects of each of them, the system was thoroughly redone from top to bottom. While very little, or actually to my knowledge, no people complained at all about the previous Passive system, since after all, it was the star and one of the defining features of the game, to even a neutral observer revamping the Passives so thoroughly from the beginning seems excessive and unnecessary. There's this fear that maybe the result is worse off, and fans of the old system would turned off.

And these two points is why v7A was especially nerving wrecking to work on in the last month. But at the same time, I felt that just because something previously worked, doesn't mean it can't be even better. That's why I toiled for the revamp. This incarnation, I'm certain, is a better system overall from beginning to end. Maybe some numbers here or there will, probably, definitely, need to be fudged a bit, but the core design and idea behind it I feel IS solid. If it isn't solid, then that means my mind, the same mind that created 6 alpha builds of Karryn's Prison so far, had rotted and I had to be confident that it isn't the case and that I can still recapture the magic of what made some people really like Karryn's Prison.

Moving on a bit, how should you play v7A? However you want to, but I recommend starting over, either as New Game or New Game Plus by sleeping over and over again until Order hits 0 and then reset all stats. My personal recommendation though, is a complete New Game on Prisoner Mode and aiming to stay pure for as long as possible. But only if you enjoy that type of challenge, especially when the game is currently a bit unbalanced. You can still play however you want and I hope you have fun discovering and reading all the new Passives.

So the secret system that Sachinama and I had been working on since the start of v7 was the masturbation system. It's still the same battle when you masturbate on the couch, that part hasn't change and isn't going to change. But read the Passive that you get after the first time you masturbate on the couch. It's... something I really want in the game since the first version, but one thing or another always had priority over it. Masturbating, like every other sexual action in the game, is yet another trap meant to screw over Karryn. Some numbers for it might need tweaking later on, I know for sure old saves with super slutty Karryns will have trouble getting the new masturbation scene but alas, it's meant to be a system that gets progressed from the start as Karryn gets sluttier.

While in the middle of writing this post, I bugfixed and updated v7A.b, so I lost my train of thought. I'm not sure what this post is suppose to inform at this point. So I'm going to end it here. I hope some of you will enjoy v7A, and have fun treating it like a new game again where you're rediscovering a lot of new stuff. I really, really want to nail the new player experience down, and make Karryn's corruption be more understandable, slower, and of course, fucking hot to experience and witness as she walks down the spiral into slutdom.

v7A Changelog

  • Added Karryn's Vaginal Sex skill!
  • Added the defeat battle for losing in Level 3!
  • Changed the required experience formula for gaining stats, in general it takes longer to gain a stat level.
  • Desire and Passive systems revamped! 80% of the Passives had their effects changed!
  • Pleasure damage formula revamped!
  • Note that some of the Passives are currently in the wrong categories. You don't need to report them, all of the Passives will be re-categorized in a future update.
  • Go M A S T U R B A T E. I don't mean in real life, well, I guess that's fine too, but try masturbating multiple times ingame and check out the new Passives. Note that pre-existing saves of Karryn that are already super slutty might have some trouble seeing the new CG. Maybe.
  • Made font size smaller in Skills and Passives menu.
  • Enemy difficulty is now more gradually increased throughout each Level.
  • Reduced enemies on the map in Level 3 and also made them a bit easier to avoid and navigate pass
  • Boss stats are now reduced if you keep losing to them.
  • Added mouseover tooltips and a lot more icons to both Karryn and enemies!
  • Cautious stance is no longer available from start but its effects are stronger.
  • Added versions of Cautious Stance, Defensive Stance and Counter Stance that use Revitalize or Second Wind or Fix Clothes first.
  • Endure Pleasure, Wait Pleasure, Open Pleasure's effects have been changed.
  • Added 3 Turns, 5 Turns and 10 Turns versions of Open Pleasure.
  • Endure Pleasure, Wait Pleasure, Open Pleasure's names have been renamed to Secretary Stance, Lady Stance and Pleasure Stance respectively.
  • Some ongoing sex scenes can be overwritten by other sex scenes under certain conditions.
  • Using Attack Skills consecutively in a row makes the next Attack Skill stronger and more accurate but also cost more Stamina.
  • Using Sexual Skills consecutively in a row makes the next non-petting Sexual Skill deal give more Pleasure but also cost more Stamina. Using the same non-petting Sexual Skill on the same person consecutively also makes it deal much more Pleasure but also make it cost much more Stamina.
  • Strength now affects Critical Rate, and Dexterity now affects Critical Damage.
  • Karryn's Strength helps decrease the clothing damage she takes when enemies try to pull her clothes, but only if she has any Stamina.
  • Evading any attack now also slightly displaces Karryn's clothing.
  • Starting Subsidies increased by 50.
  • Added a Day Report at the beginning of each day to inform Karryn what the day's changes are
  • Certain Titles' Passive effect are now obtainable once per playthrough from equipping them.
  • Side activity reputation decay changed to 4 days.
  • Added explanations for when the Remove Toy and Receptionist's Accept Request skill can't be used.
  • Changed the effects of most Ring and Misc Accessories.
  • Changed most of the effects from the starting Titles and Passives that you pick at the start of the game.
  • Stat Training Edicts now give 25% increased stat growth instead of 20%, and Specialization Edicts now give 50% increased stat growth instead of 40%.
  • Endurance Levels give less Stamina, but Stamina Levels give more Stamina now.
  • Energy Levels give more Energy now.
  • Status menu now shows Karryn's real stats during battle instead of her stat levels.
  • Cheats added to the Settings menu for Secretary Mode.
