1.11 Week 4 report

Hey guys!  As I warned last week...we're not ready to release the next version today.  😔

Our lovely artist Victoria has worked incredibly hard on creating a set of facial features that (a) allow us to convey a wide range of emotions and (b) harmonise together when you combine different face shapes with different facial features.  (Check out the sneak peek above!)

I think the results are greta, but the work turned out to be more complex than we expected.  At the start of the month, we hoped to have this finished and ready to release today.  But we still have several more days work ahead before the art's implemented and working in the game.  I'll keep you posted on progress.

Writing
Meanwhile, writing on the next story section – university – is going well, in a "scary but exciting" kind of way.

It's scary because we're making some big changes to the way this scene flows.  I think that sex scenes are sexiest when they're in context (e.g. the BJ scene with Kate's guy friends is pretty mild in terms of what actually happens; what makes it sexy is her relationship and history with them).  Porn is sex without context; when I'm watching porn I need to invent some context before I find it sexy.  I think one of the reasons people like Female Agent is because of the context we build around the sex scenes.

So we're trying to do a little bit more than we did in 1.6 when it comes to capturing the emotional journey of the heroine when she's away at university; how she feels, her identity at uni, who her friends are.  The aim is to make the sex scenes more sexy by making the context around them more real.  It's challenging, because it's requiring me to be more ambitious with my writing than I have been before.

It's exciting because some of the new scenes are shaping up really well.  One anonymous contributor – who stays anonymous because her RL job is in education – messaged me with some concerns about the way we're reintroducing the optional university professor affair in this version.  She read the first draft and said she was worried the student/teacher dynamic was a little bit too real to be sexy.

Then she read the storyboard for the rest of the relationship, and sent a follow-up message:

Actually this turns into the sexiest thing in the game 😳 forget I said anything

I can't wait to share this with you.  We'll release the facial expressions either at some point in Feb, or along with the uni update (depending on workload).

Okay...that's it.  Patrons: thank you for supporting me and the rest of the team while we work on this.  Everybody: wish me luck with the writing next week, and I'll see you back here Soon with another update!
