1.11 Week 2 report

Hey guys! This week we released the 1.10.1 version, and made progress on our two current objectives:

1). Version 1.11 (early release target: 31 Jan) will add facial expressions to the avatar
Our artist Victoria is hard at work designing a range of avatar emotes. It’s complex work, but the early designs are looking greta!

2). Version 1.12 (early release target: Feb 28) will be another big story update, covering Kate’s university experience.
We’re still in the storyboarding phase for the uni content – I’m hoping to finish the storyboards next week.
We’re departing from the 1.6 university experience in a few ways that I’m really excited about! I feel like I’m still experimenting with the best way to write sex scenes in the new engine, but some of the storyboard scenes are shaping up GRETA. I’m really looking forward to getting this out to you.

Other stuff
We also made technical progress with the character sheet and with the return of pale & olive skin tones. More on those soon!

Namibia Josh scene
We had lots of feedback asking how to unlock the Josh option in the “three in a bed” scene in Namibia.
The short answer is you can’t; the point of the greyed-out dialogue option was to convey that the heroine is sexually attracted to Pablo, but not Josh (who’s firmly in the friend zone).
That said, we part-developed a more complex scene where the heroine could seduce Pablo, Josh, or both of them. This is the scene that slowed down delivery of 1.10, because I couldn’t make it feel believable; it felt like the heroine was doing it because it was in the script, not because it’s something she realistically would have done. This is something we might revisit or improve in the future, though, so I’m interested in everybody’s ideas on this! Let us know here or on Discord.

Okay, that’s it for this week! I’m planning to spend most of next week writing and storyboarding, so I’ll be a happy crab. I hope you guys all have a fun week ahead, and I’ll be back with an update next week.
