Developer Update: November

Many of you following this project may be wondering when the next update to Dreams of Reality will be coming out. I will give an indication of this at the end of this article, but for now some details:

Chapter One had a total of:
775 static images;
141 seconds of animation (8460 rendered frames);
10 bonus images;
5694 lines of code;
26957 script (word count).

Chapter Two: Part one had a total of:
529 static images;
79 seconds of animation (4740 rendered frames);
11 bonus images;
4532 lines of code;
21170 script (word count).

Chapter Two: Part Two has a current total of:
354 static images;
51 seconds of animation (3060 rendered frames);
12 bonus images;
2029 lines of code;
~9000 script (word count).

As you can see, when you add the entirety of Ch2 together, it is going to be a much larger chapter than the first. I still have many scenes to make and render. I would say that I am past 60% completion now; however, there are some story elements I am in the process of adding and refining.

With all that said, I am hoping for a release  mid- to late December. However, I will not rush to meet a deadline if the quality I want to achieve will suffer.

I know many want to get their hands on the game sooner, some may think I'm procrastinating the development. But this is not the case. The biggest limiting factor is rendering. This is something I am looking to improve some time in the future and it's the supporters from this site that are  directly helping towards this.

I will be scaling back on the animations. I know many like to see them but the production time and rendering time for those take a large part of the available time I have. As such, I feel most would prefer more content in the game itself. Animations are a stretch goal and I would want to revisit previous chapters and add animations as required in future.

Hopefully this gives some insight into where I am in the production of the next update. I am excited to see the feedback from players once you get your hands on it. A big shout out to all those who support me financially, no matter how big or small - know that your support is directly working towards improving Dreams of Reality.

For those who support via Discord, or other forums - I appreciate the constrictive feedback and dialogue. Finally, for those that have held off supporting due to being burned in the past by developers who abandon their games, I hope that these frequent updates show I am committed to this project.

Finally finally, the bonus scene poll has concluded, looks like Louise is in for some (consenting) rough treatment....

Take care all.
