Ritual Conception: The Story behind the Story and Pg 01-02 WIPS.

A year ago, my pal Bull asked me why I wasn't drawing my character Pone as much anymore and I simply stated; "I don't know what to do with her/I feel like I've grown away from her." and thus, Bull's mission to make me draw furry art once more began. We got together and drafted a very very rough outline of a story involving his new character Vol'duur helping my character, Pone. And thus, Ritual Conception had been conceived! ...Sort of.

The project went stagnant as we both waited for life to settle when a year later, I received the tell-tale poke of "It's time". Now, for as long as he is able, Hubull-King will be both my partner for this project and boss. I hope you all enjoy the labor we have both put into this project and go give him a follow. This project wouldn't be what it is without him.

Character Introduction

Vol'Duur: Local Druid. Store owner and manager of "Honey Haven". Helps customers with goods and spiritual needs.

Pone: Small pony looking for the impossible- to become pregnant by 3 different partners.

To prepare for the visual process of the comic, the writing had to have some finality about it. Discussions about how the shop looks and works was a big topic on the table for this process as Bull and I deliberated on the details that the reader would never get to know (in this story at least). Many references were used from palette ideas, building set pieces in sketch-up and googling the meanings of flowers. Placement and flow of panels was a big contender for biggest pain-in-the-ass, especially on page 02, but it had to follow the pacing and style set up from PG 01 a year ago. For some reason I had made a reference for the Rune markings on Pone but not an overall reference to follow in general haha. That was remedied for page 02.
