Jennifer didn't know how things had turned out so badly! She thought it would be just another job - travel to the Amazon and shoot some photographs for a documentary. "How long are they going to torture me like this?" She could barely breathe through the dirty skin gag, and the heavy forest heat was almost too much. They had been using her as a mule to move logs across the jungle to build something. She didn't know what... a structure of some kind? Or maybe a shrine? Jennifer didn't dare fall down for fear of what her captors might do to her. She would get a hard push from one of the women if she slowed her pace too much, which threw her off balance and reminded her of the agony her body was in.

She had to try and escape. "Maybe tonight once they go to sleep, I can squeeze out of the ropes and crawl away!", she thought to herself. The forest at night terrified her, but she couldn't think of any better plan. "While I still have strength... I can't wait too long...", she kept telling herself. "Just don't think about the pain", she thought as she continued to trudge forward. Her feet and back and arms were on fire and her body was covered in sweat and dirt.
